- Cisco® OpenH264
Logitech Capture will automatically select the video encoder dependant on your computer's operating system and graphics processing capabilities or unit (GPU) capabilities based on the following:
- Intel® Quick Sync is used when your computer has an Intel® CPU with integrated GPU.
- NVIDIA® NVENC is used when your computer has a discrete NVIDIA GPU.
- Cisco® OpenH264 is used when there isn’t an Intel® CPU with integrated GPU or when your computer does not have a discrete NVIDIA GPU.

The following checklist can help you make sure you get a 4K recording:
- Your connected Logitech camera must be one of the following:
- BRIO 4K Stream Edition
- BRIO 4K Pro Webcam
- Your Logitech camera must be connected via USB3 using the bundled USB-C cable and preferably connected to motherboard USB3 ports.
- If you use Microsoft® Windows 7, 4K recording is not supported.
- If the video encoder is Cisco® OpenH264, 4K recording is not supported.
- If the video encoder is Intel® Quick Sync, your Intel® CPU must be Skylake architecture or later, otherwise 4K recording is not supported. If you do not know which Intel® CPU you have, please check Intel’s® How to Identify My Intel® Processor.
- If the video encoder is NVIDIA® NVENC, 4K recording is only possible when:
- Your primary monitor is connected directly to your NVIDIA® integrated or discrete NVIDIA® GPU.
- Your NVIDIA® GPU architecture is Maxwell 2nd generation or higher and uses the latest drivers. If you do not know which NVIDIA® GPU, its architecture and driver version, please consult the NVIDIA® website.
