[Feature request] Make MX Keys easy switch the mouse too

We need a light version of Flow that just allows a button or shortcut to swap, I think.
    Because Flow is Garbage.

If you drag to the corner of the screen accidentally, it tries to swap devices.  If the target device is not available, everything just freezes for a second or two.  Which is annoying if you're playing games.

You can apply a modifier key, but this makes flow even more clunky - and if you're going to press a modifier, you may as well just use the keyboard 1/2/3 target buttons to swap target.

Flow's also only on PC and Mac.  So that limits it further.

On top of that, the keyboard has an annoyance - the double-width escape key means F1/F2 etc are all in the wrong place, so pressing F2 to rename a file often results in the Help Nobody Asked For from the F1 key.  (Also annoying in games that use the F1-F8 keys).

At the least what is needed is a simple app on PC/Mac/Linux that lets you just trigger the input selection on both a keyboard and a mouse from a shortcut (or even the target buttons, if they are actually detectable).

Also annoying, because the unifying receiver is the main USB input source, I can't stop the mouse from waking the computer if I move it - as doing so would disable the keyboard's ability to wake the PC.  I have to suspend my main computer and then quickly flip the mouse and change inputs.  And then when I wake the PC I have to do it again to use the mouse.

I really, really regret spending nearly £200 for the MX Keys + MX Master 3 keyboard and mouse.  I thought it'd improve my workflow.  If anything it's made it worse.

Happy new year guys! Hope the next year logitech can finally sell or fix the issue with flow or INTEGRATE the KVM function.

You too Eduardo - though I doubt Logitech will address this request at all.

    Hey all,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It is not possible to use one Easy-Switch button to at the same time change both your mouse and keyboard to a different computer/device.

We do understand that this is a feature that a lot of customers would like. If you are switching between Apple macOS and/or Microsoft Windows computers, we offer Flow. Flow allows you to control multiple computers with a Flow-enabled mouse. Flow automatically switches between computers by moving your cursor to the edge of the screen, and the keyboard follows.

In other cases where Flow is not applicable, one Easy-Switch button for both mouse and keyboard might look like a simple answer. However, we cannot guarantee this solution at the moment, as it is not easy to implement.

You people at Logitech just keeps repeating the same mantra that it's complicated. In reality, this is not a big thing to fix. If you can do the switch by moving a mouse to edge of a screen, you most certainly can do it with a click of a button. This has been proven by several before in this thread, even to the point of sharing how they did it with source code. Why don't someone who ACTUALLY knows what they are talking about from the tech people visit this thread. I believe it would be matter of days and it's implemented.

And, please stop posting the same answer over and over again. It's like you are not listening to your customers. Or soon to be former customers.

OK. It seems Logitech is not very interested into building a one key switch. How about ability to remap the top button into ability to change mouse connection? How difficult or real is that request? I dont mind to press another button as long as I dont need to pick up mouse from my desk. That would be a reasonable compromise and I am sure a lot of people would agree to get at least something.

BTW For everyone else, Today I bought Rapoo MT750S to test it and see how good it is. The benefit it has that switch button on top, the price is around 35$ on sale. Downside - it is lighter definitly not as tactile as MX master mouse and has micro usb port instead of usb c. I know that logitech has some kind of mouse like that but as I said previous I am not buying any other logitech product in near future.

Well Siddharth S from Logi Support, rest assured that you aren't providing your customers with the best products or experience, and neither are you providing them with good customer support.

How many times have I seen your standard response that "you'll pass this on to the team" or "it's difficult" or some other bland answer but nothing else.

Why not try something different, like showing these 13 pages of comments on the topic to your senior manager or head of product engineering and ask him to comment on this thread directly so they can get first hand experience of where they are clearly failing.

Otherwise, send me their name(s) and we can all contact them directly.

Trevor Morgan I think you want to speak to Paolo Passeri who is their  Head of Product, C&P Software at Logitech. You can reach him via LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paolopasseri/

You know he will understand because on his bio he writes:
"I have a passion for creating and managing products that empower users and make their lives better.."

    Amen Trevor Morgan.

Siddharth, each time you copy and paste your templated responses here, you're honestly just making this worse. And I can guarantee you're making a few of us angry.

For a company and brand the size of Logitech, this is honestly some of the most appalling neglect of customer feedback. And I bet they try sell this feature to us in the next model. Last time I buy anything Logitech.

LOL - "I have a passion for creating and managing products that empower users and make their lives better.."

He's now on my to-do list for today.

EDIT Paolo doesn't accept direct emails on Linked in unless you're connected with him (which as per his settings, he doesn't prefer).

I've sent him a connection invite so will now see how that goes

If you can't connect the MX Keys keyboard  device switch to automatically switch the mouse then at lease figure out a way to allow us to map a top button to be the easy switch button on the MX Master 3 mouse. Like many users on here if you are a business user that has to use VPN, then Flow is useless as it completely stops working when on VPN. I would much rather that whoever designed the MX Master 3 didn't make the poor choice to put the Easy Switch button on the bottom of the mouse. Instead they could have put it on top just like my older M720 Logitech mouse where I can just switch computers with my thumb without turning the mouse over each and every time. I would give up any of the side buttons just have it on the top of the mouse. It has now become the "Awkward Switch " Button and have to return an otherwise great mouse. What a shame. Hopefully Logitech will come up with a software solution or maybe on the MX Master 4 (if and when it comes out) they put the easy switch button on the top of the mouse. My rant is over. I know this is a rehash of what post of you have said. My wife says I have anger management issues over first world problems, but it would be great if they user tested their products with potential business users before they release to the market.

The top two posts on this forum are to allow the keyboard to switch the mouse as well, with a combined total of 740 votes, over 22 times the number of the votes the next post has.

How is it possible that, a year after the posts were created, the only response from Logitech is "we have already passed the feedback along to the team"?

What are the team doing about it? When are they actually going to deliver something?

Another vote for this feature. Just upgraded from an Master1 to a Master3 thinking I would gain this feature. Pretty disappointed to learn it's flow only... Doesn't seem like something that should be too difficult to implement especially when both computers are using a unifying receiver. Oh well, back to two mice on my mouse mat....

I must say that this is a real bummer. Bought the MX Master 3 and MX Keys and really expected this to work. Hope it will be implemented as i use both mouse and keyboard for 3 devices.

Logitech does so many things so great, I was surprised to see they utterly failed with this problem...

The least you can do is give us another mouse shortcut ON THE TOP of the mouse to switch to a different receiver. Currently, this system is as unfriendly as having the charging port on the bottom, like the Apple's mouse.

By the way, i use the MX combo with PC and IPad OS, so Flow is not option for me. You need to better support your products if you are going to charge 200$ for a keyboard and a mouse.

It's really disappointing that multipoint Bluetooth connection is out since BT v 4.0 but logitech was not able to implement some paring between MX Keys and MX Master 3. This is killing feature which I'd really expect as must have for such expensive devices.
I'm scratching my head why logitech is missing this opportunity to upsell and cross sell.

If you logitech aren't interesting in bringing this feature in, please at least make your fw open source and let community to implement this feature on it's own.

Logitech, your official answer does not make sense. "It is not easy to do without flow", I can sort of understand, but in flow you have it already implemented in response to the mouse moving from one computer's edge to the other. So why can it not perform that same action in response to a key press of the easy switch buttons? That's just lame.

Since I also cannot use flow to its full extent (PCs must be able to ping each other and communicate over a specific port, which I cannot do with 2 separate corporate laptops), I also regret buying into the marketing message.

    Hi,

I just bought the MX Keys Mini for Mac and the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac and was trying to find a way to switch between 2 macs just using the keyboard button. It's really sad that after a 1 year with more than 500 votes requesting this feature Logitech has not implemented that yet. That really shows how much Logitech carry about the customers

Is this something that could be added to the SDK to let the community help solve the issue? There are many threads, requests, tickets, and comments on this feature going back as much as 3 years with who knows how many people wanting it. Lets find a way!
