[Feature request] Make MX Keys easy switch the mouse too
BeantwortetHi Logitech,
What I would very much like to see is that the easy switch keys on my Logitech MX keys keyboard also switch my mouse to the computer I select.
Currently those keys switch the keyboard to a different computer but leave the mouse as is. So now I need to pick up the mouse (MX Master 2S) and use the small button at the bottom to change between computers.
When would you ever want to leave the mouse as is and switch keyboard only? Never right? Please make those 3 keys switch the mouse too!
I can't install the flow software on my locked work laptop so that isn't a solution for me.
Would be a great upgrade for me!

Please, stop copy/paste the same no-answer day after day.
"we cannot guarantee this solution at the moment, as it is not easy to implement."
Seriously ? More than one year after the initial request, nobody still doesn't know and techs just reply it's to hard for them ?Please, just stop bullshit and give us a real anwser, or just admit either :
- Logitech techs are incompetent and are unable to satisfy such a basic and essential feature
- Customer service has absolutely no consideration for customers and the request hasn't even been passed to tech teams. It's hard to believe anything else.

I think Siddharth and Prem L are just AI bots. Responding to threads with similar responses ad nauseam. I expect more from warm seats, hence the assumption.
Held back on buying the MX Master 3 since I joined this thread. Have the MX Master 2S. There is no way I will upgrade without this feature. Also holding back on any new Bolt enabled devices, unless they offer this feature. Not wasting my money on dissapointment.

Sneha - your and the responses from your Logitech colleagues are extremely dismissive. Instead of copying/pasting the same generic statement about how it's hard and we should look into Flow (which is not an option for those who want this feature because of VPN or other restrictions on work PCs), respond with a helpful comment. Like "engineers have studied the issue and have decided it will be too costly to implement - sorry" OR (even better) "engineers have studied the issue and expect an implementation in by April 2022". Logitech has known about this issue for a couple of years, so there's really no excuse to not have a direct answer (either it's going to happen or not...period). This isn't rocket science, and Logitech has done hard things before. Figure it out and respond to your customers.

So... what's up, Siddharth? Are you satisfied with the work you are doing here? Maybe today, you're feeling inspired and will actually do something about the hundreds of users that are trying to get a solution to solve this fiasco. Perhaps someone here will see your efforts in doing so and offer you a better job? I guarantee that all these guys complaining here have an IT background, so who knows...

Please implement this feature.
It would drastically improve the experience many of us clearly have.
And if you really just can't for some security reason have the receiver send a command back to the mouse (which it clearly does) to follow the keyboard, PLEASE let me reassign the Wheel Mode or Gesture button. Both of those are neat ideas, but useless to me in practice.
I'm also using the Bolt receiver, so... more security?

Hi Max,
We do understand that this is a feature that a lot of customers would like and we have already passed the feedback to the team.

I purchased the MX keys and MX Master 3 mainly for the Easy-Switch feature on the MX keys which I presumed would easily switch the device that the keyboard and its corresponding mouse control. Sadly, after reading through this feature request post I realize the Logitech team can't seem to figure out a solution.
I just don't understand how Logitech Flow is able to switch the computer/device on both the keyboard and the mouse but the easy switch key can't accomplish that. There must be some sort of solution. The problem with Logitech Flow is that I frequently accidentally switch devices by mistake by having the mouse touch an edge and that interrupts my workflow. If a key on the keyboard could be programmed to do the same as flow (switch both keyboard and mouse), that would already be a better solution than "we cannot guarantee a solution as it is not easy to implement".
The problem with switching devices on the MX mouse is that I have to lift it and press the device selector button under the mouse which is not very seamless to do. I was hoping I can program a button (such as the wheel mode shift button) to work as a device switch but that option is not there. I was forced to buy the M720 with a more accessible button to switch between devices. I would have loved to use my MX master when simultaneously using multiple devices.
All in all, Easy-Switch is not so easy and Logitech Flow doesn't flow very well.
I realize the Easy-Switch button doesn't work in a way that we all wished it did but I hope the team can at least develop different ways to switch between devices in Logitech Flow.

Hi,
As many others I also wrongly assumed that Keys and Mouse would be synced before purchasing.
You have a good product that doesn't live to expectations due to be lacking a feature that is so obvious that everyone assumes it is there when they purchase the combo.
Make this happen, no excuses, you owe it to your customers.

Hi João,
It is not possible to use one Easy-Switch button to at the same time change both your mouse and keyboard to a different computer/device.
We do understand that this is a feature that a lot of customers would like. If you are switching between Apple macOS and/or Microsoft Windows computers, we offer Flow. Flow allows you to control multiple computers with a Flow-enabled mouse. Flow automatically switches between computers by moving your cursor to the edge of the screen, and the keyboard follows.
In other cases where Flow is not applicable, one Easy-Switch button for both mouse and keyboard might look like a simple answer. However, we cannot guarantee this solution at the moment, as it is not easy to implement.

i too would like this feature. having bought both an MX keys and mouse, i will be returning both as it's too much of a hassle to cycle through buttons at the bottom of a mouse for the correct input.
the solution to this is actually fairly simple and could be implemented through the use of using the keyboard as a receiver for the mouse and switching both together. it's insane this isn't currently happening.

Interesting find, this https://github.com/marcelhoffs/input-switcher. Thanks Ricardo Cruz
With MX Keys and MX Master 3, I was able to configure it in such a way that clicking the mouse wheel switches over both the mouse and the keyboard from the windows computer at channel 1 to the windows computer at channel 2. Unfortunately and after many hours of debugging I was still not able to make the second windows machine do the same, and switch back to channel 1.
So it helped me about 50% :-) -
Hi Pooja, Siddharth
You guys probably have directions that you are not allowed to promise or say anything that would qualify as a promise from Logitech's since you are functioning as the voice of the company. However, I and many others would be eternally grateful if you would be able to work with your people just to let us know if you are indeed actually looking into implementing this feature and whether it is actually doable or has it been demoted to bottom of the todo pile?

Yes!!
This feature is clearly MIA but has obviously become critical and should absolutely be added.
Some would say it's "a bug" not being able to switch more than one pheripheral, comfortably and rationally, between devices with a single action.
Lifting your mouse is so 2013!
I have a PC, laptop and also Samsung S22 Ultra (MX works great on that! but it lacks this duo-switching)

Just by answering this question we can know if this feature is fundamentally possible or not
Can we change the lookup device of the keyboard or the mouse using the logitech options software?
If FALSE then I will not be expecting this feature, but if the statement is TRUE, then this feature is definitely possible by letting logitech options running on the background and maybe also doing a firmware update on the devices.

Please be informed that we have already taken this as feedback and passed this along to the team.
