[Feature request] Make MX Keys easy switch the mouse too
BeantwortetHi Logitech,
What I would very much like to see is that the easy switch keys on my Logitech MX keys keyboard also switch my mouse to the computer I select.
Currently those keys switch the keyboard to a different computer but leave the mouse as is. So now I need to pick up the mouse (MX Master 2S) and use the small button at the bottom to change between computers.
When would you ever want to leave the mouse as is and switch keyboard only? Never right? Please make those 3 keys switch the mouse too!
I can't install the flow software on my locked work laptop so that isn't a solution for me.
Would be a great upgrade for me!

Strongly Agree. Similarly I posted here to suggest that when mouse is moved to a particular computer in the Flow Mode, the keyboard should also be switched to that computer.

This should be such an easy software implementation. Just add a toggle in Logitech Options to enable/disable (but have it enabled by default, since I cannot really imagine why anyone would NOT want their mouse switched with the keyboard).
I can't use flow, since I am not allowed to install Options on my work laptop, so I am relying on a unifying device for that.
Just get it done. There's obviously massive demand and the hardware is clearly able (via flow on the mouse), so it should be eminently possible.

Good luck guys... I tried to get a follow-up here and the reply from Logitech seemed completely detached from reality.

I doubt Logitech will add the feature to current mice because I'm guessing it's a hardware limitation at this point. It's the most bizarre/stupid design feature I've seen in a long time. As soon as I realised you needed to pick up the mouse and press underneath I was like "this isnt going to work".
Luckily I am already used to using 2 wireless mice to control 2 machines. This feature would have saved me from doing it but in its current form I'll stick to 2 mice over picking it up and finding a tiny button thats out of sight 300 times a day. This is meant to be a productivity device and its the most unproductive solution possible.
If there is a way to do this through the software then its a no brainer to add it. I would use the gesture section to control switching devices. -
Hello guys, i now use the software barrier its free and works perfect on all devices, Flow realy donot work good on my pcs / macs

Agree with this. I bought the MX Keys and MX Vertical Mouse, expecting the switch button to switch both, but no, it doesn't. I have to switch keyboard with the special button, and then turn mouse upside down and press the "switch" button there also. Yes, a first world problem but even if I could assign one of the mouse keys to act as "easy-switch" would mean I can do it single-handed instead of current solution.
As others have pointed out, Flow can't be used for computers on different networks, nor installed on many company supplied laptops.
Ideally, just having the option of switching both devices with the dedicated keyboard button would make life easier.
Think about it, by providing this would make 200+ people instantly happy and release all sorts of positive karma into the world :)
Additionally, it will provide the real functionality that your marketing around these products is already promoting.

Have just bought a MX Keys and MX Master 3. Quite incredible that this feature isn't supported. Based on sales literature and even the icons on the device switching keys themselves, it suggests that the keyboard switching will prompt the mouse to follow suit.
Flow is not an option as my devices are not on the same network and 2 of them are Linux.
It cannot be beyond the wit of man to update the firmware of the keyboard, mouse, and Unifying receiver such that when the user presses a device switch key on the keyboard, a signal is sent to the Unifying receiver first to instruct the receiver to inform any other connected devices which target to switch to???

I had MX Keys before and with 3 buttons to switch between devices it worked perfectly.
Today I have bought MX Master 3 and I'm completely disappointed.
I can't make Flow to work because one of the computers is in company domain, and I cant force Flow to connect on both.
Turning back mouse to switch between computers is makes me think of returning the mouse to the seller.
Simple solution for mouse to follow keyboard switch would be perfect.

I agree with most comments, I hope Logitech tries to fix this ASAP because a lot of users are getting frustrated. We both this combo because of the software features, please make the mouse switching seamless like the keyboard in not linked, we don't want to turn the mouse over to do this. You either should be able to switch them together or the mouse switch should be somewhere we can reach fast, maybe also mappable.

Everyone I know who has the Mx keys and Mx Master, who happen to be highly professional workers in several industries, want this. Honestly, this oversight reflects poorly on the entire software team lead. To think they would not include this feature, and have no means for re-mapping the switch key to a button on top of the mouse, combined with poor Linux support. Middle management in charge of software engineers must be pretty bad.
Kudos though to the hardware team, both have a fantastic feel. -
Just spent 250 bucks on a MX Keys and a MX Master 3 and I simply cannot believe that this is not even the default behavior !!!
Not only this is probably what 99.99% of users would want, but this behavior seems implied in every commercial communications ! The way Easy Switch is described, it seemed to me that it was a feature allowing to easily switch multiple devices with a single keystroke...
As many pointed out, Flow is not avaliable alternative for many reasons :
- Both computers might not be on the same network.
- I personally hate to lose my mouse pointer between screen : I want a hardware switch key with a LED telling me on which device I am working and no possibility to switch by accident.
- I am a Linux user (and by the way, advertising your products as Linux compatible when nearly all features are not available on Linux is really dishonest).
Long story short, I am REALLY disappointed by such a huge flaw in such great products, and I am even more considering that this feature has been heavily requested for months without anyone from Logitech even bothering to answer. It would be embarrassing for you for a $20 product, but speaking of over $100 products it is really a huge shame !
