The devices are totally capable of performing this action with its hardware, even my cheaper 8 year old Logitech keyboard has a chip capable of it (I have used similar chips in my projects). They will need a firmware update for sure, anybody familiar with micro-controllers can to it and probably if the firmware was opensource somebody would have already implemented it.

But I understand for a company with millions of devices is not so easy as there is a potential risk of bricking the devices or create a security issue that will discredit their name.

What we want a know is if developers are actively working on it, if it will be available for our current devices with out having to buy MX 2, and an expected time frame to see it fixed.

You people at Logitech just keeps repeating the same mantra that it's complicated. In reality, this is not a big thing to fix. If you can do the switch by moving a mouse to edge of a screen, you most certainly can do it with a click of a button. This has been proven by several before in this thread, even to the point of sharing how they did it with source code. Why don't someone who ACTUALLY knows what they are talking about from the tech people visit this thread. I believe it would be matter of days and it's implemented.

And, please stop posting the same answer over and over again. It's like you are not listening to your customers. Or soon to be former customers.

The top two posts on this forum are to allow the keyboard to switch the mouse as well, with a combined total of 740 votes, over 22 times the number of the votes the next post has.

How is it possible that, a year after the posts were created, the only response from Logitech is "we have already passed the feedback along to the team"?

What are the team doing about it? When are they actually going to deliver something?

Sneha - your and the responses from your Logitech colleagues are extremely dismissive. Instead of copying/pasting the same generic statement about how it's hard and we should look into Flow (which is not an option for those who want this feature because of VPN or other restrictions on work PCs), respond with a helpful comment. Like "engineers have studied the issue and have decided it will be too costly to implement - sorry" OR (even better) "engineers have studied the issue and expect an implementation in by April 2022". Logitech has known about this issue for a couple of years, so there's really no excuse to not have a direct answer (either it's going to happen or not...period). This isn't rocket science, and Logitech has done hard things before. Figure it out and respond to your customers.

I could not agree with this post anymore. This is the reason I bought the keyboard and mouse. This is a selling feature if you could release this as a patch.

I have the MX mouse but fortunately discovered this limitation before I purchased the MX keys. I hope this feature gets added soon so I can justify the keyboard purchase.

    +1 for this feature request.

There is a lag when moving to edge to switch PC. It's intuitive that mouse follows easy switch.

Please add this feature. I am on the edge of giving up MX Master 3 in favour of M720 just because a mouse is not born to be rolled on its back (and reach that switch button).

This should be such an easy software implementation. Just add a toggle in Logitech Options to enable/disable (but have it enabled by default, since I cannot really imagine why anyone would NOT want their mouse switched with the keyboard).

I can't use flow, since I am not allowed to install Options on my work laptop, so I am relying on a unifying device for that.

Just get it done. There's obviously massive demand and the hardware is clearly able (via flow on the mouse), so it should be eminently possible.

Good luck guys... I tried to get a follow-up here and the reply from Logitech seemed completely detached from reality.

I doubt Logitech will add the feature to current mice because I'm guessing it's a hardware limitation at this point. It's the most bizarre/stupid design feature I've seen in a long time. As soon as I realised you needed to pick up the mouse and press underneath I was like "this isnt going to work".

Luckily I am already used to using 2 wireless mice to control 2 machines. This feature would have saved me from doing it but in its current form I'll stick to 2 mice over picking it up and finding a tiny button thats out of sight 300 times a day. This is meant to be a productivity device and its the most unproductive solution possible.

If there is a way to do this through the software then its a no brainer to add it. I would use the gesture section to control switching devices.

Dennis9223 HI Dennis, nice option for using Barrier to as software KVM, but for the same reasons as Flow, it won't work for lot of people unfortunately

    • Computers need to be on same network
    • Need to install Windows package which is prohibited on many company laptops

If for some reason your are not capable of doing this due to software limitations. Could you give us the ability to switch the wireless channel to an assigned button on the top of the mouse in addition to the bottom button?

Have just bought a MX Keys and MX Master 3.  Quite incredible that this feature isn't supported.  Based on sales literature and even the icons on the device switching keys themselves, it suggests that the keyboard switching will prompt the mouse to follow suit.

Flow is not an option as my devices are not on the same network and 2 of them are Linux.

It cannot be beyond the wit of man to update the firmware of the keyboard, mouse, and Unifying receiver such that when the user presses a device switch key on the keyboard, a signal is sent to the Unifying receiver first to instruct the receiver to inform any other connected devices which target to switch to???

Just spent 250 bucks on a MX Keys and a MX Master 3 and I simply cannot believe that this is not even the default behavior !!!

Not only this is probably what 99.99% of users would want, but this behavior seems implied in every commercial communications ! The way Easy Switch is described, it seemed to me that it was a feature allowing to easily  switch multiple devices with a single keystroke...

As many pointed out, Flow is not avaliable alternative for many reasons :

    • Both computers might not be on the same network.
    • I personally hate to lose my mouse pointer between screen : I want a hardware switch key with a LED telling me on which device I am working and no possibility to switch by accident.
    • I am a Linux user (and by the way, advertising your products as Linux compatible when nearly all features are not available on Linux is really dishonest).

Long story short, I am REALLY disappointed by such a huge flaw in such great products, and I am even more considering that this feature has been heavily requested for months without anyone from Logitech even bothering to answer. It would be embarrassing for you for a $20 product, but speaking of over $100 products it is really a huge shame !

I will suggest to create support tickets, this way maybe the issue reach product managers and they at least create a public communication about their approach to fix this issue.

Right now we don't know if they are working silently on it, they plan to work on it or they have no intention to do something about it.

As someone said, this thread is marked as "answered" so chances are nobody from Logitech is even looking at this anymore

So, nothing gets a company's attention more than a Tweet.

If you have a Twitter account, I would suggest posting a Tweet to @logitech with this link ( https://support.logi.com/hc/en-gb/community/posts/360050755634--Feature-request-Make-MX-Keys-easy-switch-the-mouse-too ) once a week asking when they are going to address until they resolve.

Also mention @brackendarrell in the Tweet who is the Logitech CEO to get some more attention.

There are 200+ people on this thread so 100+ tweets a week on this will soon annoy him!

As someone said, this thread is marked as "answered" so chances are nobody from Logitech is even looking at this anymore

Don't forget to highlight that this product is a fail on their part.

    +1, literally madness.
Not compatible with Linux at all as flow software is not compatible and flow is required to be able to "easy" switch. It's a shame, I would have gone back by now to purchase the ergo set too.

    Features required:
The MX keys device switch effects the MX Master.
Mappable button on the mouse to switch devices. (saves turning MX Master over to switch).

If we want this fixed make a youtube video highlighting the flaw in this products design and post it here. Then we can upvote it.

There are many influencer videos out there and not one highlights this basic design issue. Also comment on those particular videos so people don't fall into the same trap.
