In order to use another microphone other than the built-in microphone on a Logitech webcam, you'll need to configure the new microphone to be your system's default.
To change the default microphone, first select your operating system:
Windows XP
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Click Sounds and Audio Devices.
- Click the "Audio" tab.
- Under Sound Recording, click the drop-down arrow to select your external microphone.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Your external microphone is now the default for your operating system.
Windows 7 and Vista
- Click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound, and then click the Recording tab.
- Select your external microphone.
- Click Set Default, and then click OK.
Your external microphone is now the default for your operating system.
