-
There is a potential CPU utilization concern under certain circumstances using Windows Vista. See article 953228 at http://support.microsoft.com.
-
AMD processors seem to utilize a more CPU than comparable Intel processors.
-
CPU utilization may be an issue with systems that are below recommended specifications. Additionally, there may be issues regarding the perception of frame rate and/or image quality degradation when video is used in conjunction with a video calling application. This is usually a result of less than optimal transmissions speed of the network (bandwidth – data upload).
-
In cases where streaming video results in obscure, unexpected, or multiple shown images, it is required to turn off hardware acceleration. This can be accomplished by running DXDIAG and disabling DirectDraw acceleration. The option along with the button to enable/disable the feature can be found under the Display tab.
-
To avoid any video or audio compatibility issues, please be sure to have the latest drivers for your video and sound cards installed.
-
In situations following an installation, one may encounter a timing issue where the LWS application has not recognized the camera. In many situation one of the following approaches will address the issue:
-
Unplug the camera from the USB and then reconnect to the same port
-
Unplug the camera from the USB and re-connect to another port
-
Exit the LWS application and re-launch it. This includes closing the application from the system tray.
-
-
Use a High Speed (USB 2.0) supported port. Using a Full Speed (USB 1.1) port causes image quality and frame rate degradation that can only be addressed by connecting to a High Speed port.
-
When using USB hubs, video degradation can occur due to cable length and power available to the hub (e.g. self powered or not). Use powered USB hubs only.
-
Logitech Software may not officially be recognized by all anti-virus software solutions. If your AV software flags LWS do one of the following:
-
Ensure answering the warning dialogs from the antivirus software allows Logitech components to install. Do not prevent the components from installing.
-
Quit the installation, and then disable the antivirus software before continuing with the installation.
-
-
Install the latest service packs available for the Windows operating system that you are running (e.g. XP 32 SP3, XP 64 SP2, Vista 32 SP1, and Vista 64 SP1).
-
Cameras that are UVC capable can stream video without Logitech drivers. However, we recommend customers install the Logitech Drivers for an improved experience and expanded feature set. Improvements to the user experience include but are not limited to:
-
Additional supported resolutions
-
RightLight and Rightsound technologies
-
Various Video Effects
-
-
In situations where the camera is used with an OS that is not supported, the camera must be UVC compatible. The non-supported OS must support UVC drivers. For example, the Vision Pro was developed specifically with UVC uses on the Apple Macintosh OS in mind, without any hindrance or limitation to functionality. Other UVC cameras are compatible in such an environment, but the limited feature set statement holds true.
-
If Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803) is not installed on the system running Windows XP, the software will do so before continuing installation.
-
Installation is only possible when installing with administrative privileges.
