You calibrate your flight system using the Game Controllers menu. To access the Game Controllers menu:
-
In Windows XP, click Start > Control Panel > Game Controllers
-
In Windows 7 and Vista, click Start, and then type "Game Controllers" in the Search bar. Select Set up USB game controllers.
When you calibrate the G940, you configure each part separately:
Calibrating the joystick
Use the following steps to calibrate the joystick:
-
Open the Game Controllers menu.
-
Click G940 Joystick, and then click Properties.
-
In the Logitech G940 Joystick Properties window, click Settings to begin calibrating.
-
Follow the instructions in the Settings window to calibrate the different settings for your joystick. Click Calibrate to fine-tune the settings for your joystick.
NOTE: For best performance, rotate each dial or push the throttle forward and back completely to the physical stop points at least 3 times.
NOTE: The center position is marked with a white line on the TRIM knob. Line up the mark on the knob with the mark on the case. It doesn't matter if the marks don't line up on the calibration window. When you click Next, the control will be set at the corrected center, even though the screen doesn't update.
-
To calibrate the thumb stick, rotate the thumb stick in several complete circles. As it calibrates, you'll see the thumb stick image on the screen begin to round the corners in the Calibration window. This is expected behavior, as the thumb stick's port in the joystick is rounded.
NOTE: The following image is representative of the rounded corners that appear when you calibrate.
-
In the next window, let the thumb stick come to a rest, and then click Finish. Don't worry if the thumb stick is on center. When you click Finish, the spring-centered position will be calibrated as the new center.
NOTE: The following image shows the thumb stick as being slightly above the center of the screen, even though the thumb stick is at rest on the joystick. When you click Finish, it will correct the center.
Calibrating the throttle
Use the following steps to calibrate the throttle:
-
Open the Game Controllers menu.
-
Click G940 Throttle, and then click Properties.
-
In the Logitech G940 Joystick Properties window, click Settings to begin calibrating.
-
Follow the instructions in the Settings window to calibrate the different settings for your throttle. To fine-tune the throttle, click Calibrate.
-
Click Finish when you are done.
Calibrating the pedals
The pedals self-calibrate over their use, and are not calibrated using the Windows Game Controller interface. To recalibrate the foot pedals, make sure the G940 is powered on and plugged into a PC. Then, move the rudder and toe brake controls through their full range of motion several times.
