Important information for Logitech Control Center and macOS Catalina: Update LCC before installing macOS Catalina
Pinned Featured AnsweredNote: This post was updated <11:39 AM PST>
If you use Logitech Control Center (LCC) 3.9.8 or earlier, please update to the latest version of LCC before you upgrade to macOS 10.15 (Catalina).
To install the latest version, open LCC and click on any device. From the menu bar, select Check for Updates. You can also get the latest version from the Download page here https://support.logi.com/hc/articles/360025297833
If you experience any issues, please check this FAQ: Important information for Logitech Control Center and macOS Catalina and Mojave https://support.logi.com/hc/articles/360023202814
NOTE: We are aware that after upgrading from macOS 10.14 Mojave or earlier to macOS 10.15 Catalina with LCC (Logitech Control Center) versions 3.9.8 or below, some Logitech Unifying-based devices may stop working. This is a known issue on macOS 10.15 Catalina and we’re actively working with Apple to address it.
In the meantime, if your Unifying device is not working after upgrading to macOS Catalina, please upgrade to LCC 3.9.9 from this link and reboot the system to complete the installation.
If your device is still not working, please check which version of the Unifying drivers are loaded into the system, to do so:
1. Launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities folder
2. Run the following command :
kextstat | grep -i Logi
105 1 0xffffff7f8252b000 0x47000 0x47000 com.Logitech.ControlCenter.HIDDriver (3.9.9) BB513FDB-C9C7-3A6F-AD71-58CDD322B095 <104 76 49 25 6 5 3>
106 0 0xffffff7f82582000 0x16000 0x16000 com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.9) 4E15EC6B-3BB3-3644-B366-F5EFB857C2BB <105 104 49 25 6 5 3>
If the “com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver” is any version other than 1.3.9, then the new driver was not properly loaded by macOS Catalina. To fix this issue, please try the following steps:
1. Start your system in Recovery Mode:
- Restart your computer (From the menu bar, click on the Apple logo and select Restart)
- Hold the "Command" and "R" keys until the Apple logo appears
2. You should see "macOS Utilities" screen, if not, repeat step (1).
3. Close this window using the red button on the top left
4. Click on "Choose Startup Disk..."
5. Then select "Restart.."
6. Lastly, select "Restart" again - you may see a spinning icon for a few minutes before rebooting.
-
Even though I had the correct drivers, I switched startup disks then back. Same problem.
Options recognizes the M705 but cannot get it to pair.

This worked for me, when I ran the command in Terminal both software versions were .8 after doing the suggested restart both versions are showing as .9 adn my keyboard works.
My M570 worked thru and after updating to Catalina but my K350 keyboard quit working. Both are working now. I do hope it stays that way!

Hooray! My K400r keyboard is working again!
I had updated to Catalina without updating to LCC v3.9.9 first and the keyboard refused to pair. So followed LogiLaurie's instructions to install LCC 3.9.9, reboot, run "kextstat | grep -i Logi" [which showed the old com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.8)], then went through the process of restarting in recovery mode. After that "kextstat | grep -i Logi" showed the new driver [com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.9)] and the keyboard is working like a champ.
Excellent job Laurie! Thank you.

Sorry, but for me, this is partially fixed. I have always some Problems with my mouse MX Master 2. The scrolling isn't possible.

Who can help me? I need this functionality! I paid this mouse for this too!!!

This worked for me
Uninstall any previous Logitech software
Unload Kernel Ext using above mentioned method or using below link

Restart & Install Catalina Supported Logitech Drivers/App, Logitech Options & LCC
Cheers

For those that have options with a MX Master, I finally got mine to work by :
1. Going into settings > sec. & priv. > Privacy > and then accessibility option in the left bar. I removed the Logi Options Daemon and Logi Options permissions.
2. I went to activity monitor and force quit the Logi Options Daemon. It wouldn't force quit right away but I just kept force quitting it and eventually it quit and then immediately my mouse started working right.
**My mouse is now working correctly but In my privacy settings under "Input Monitoring" and "Screen Recording" I still have 0 apps requesting access - including Logi Options.
**At some point in my above process I turned on notifications (turned off do not disturb) in case I was getting a log options notification asking for permission and wasn't seeing it. - I did have notifications from logi options.
-
This is definitely a driver issue.
I went ahead and purged everything related to Options by searching and deleting in Library. It then worked! Of course, I couldn't customize it, but it was working.
BUT on restart, the mouse had the same problem. Worked for 1 or 2 seconds and froze. The mouse should work without Options installed.
So, I'm guessing those who get their products working by updating to the most recent drivers and then get it working by updating to 3.9.9 are having different problems than those with other products like the M705.

This is extreme expert black diamond skiing stuff that gets deep into the engine of your Mac. Not for the timid nor inexperienced and could kill your Mac. I will not be trying this.

What amazes me are the steps we have to take to correct this issue. My M720 is not functioning despite my attempts to follow the guidance from Logitech and others on this board.
Sangram's point about complexity is spot on and points to how ill-prepared Logitech was in ensuring their product was compatible with macOS Catalina. Further aggravating the situation is that Logitech has yet to issue a fix that is simple and easy to implement for us average users. Time for their engineers to step up their game.

So much difficulty. I am NOT going into the Terminal on my work Mac for fear of screwing things up. Its a good think this happened before I bought a new Master mouse for my home Mac. Not going any further with Logitech which is a bummer since I hate the Apple mouse. Also, Logitech says to install the new driver BEFORE installing Catalina. WTH?!?!?! How are we supposed to know that it was not going to work? F. Now Im even more pissed off.

I created a user here just to post that this fixed the problem I was having with the K780 Keyboard and Catalina on a Mac Mini.
After upgrading I was locked out of the Mini since the keyboard didn't work; I was able to log in with a Magic Keyboard (a loaner).
Upgrading Logitech Control Center to 3.3.9 didn't fix the issue nor giving all the user permissions explained here:
The command above shows that Logitech Control Center wasn't upgraded properly.
Thanks LogiLaurie!!

I installed Steermouse, which is like a gauge on your car's dashboard, and not the Logitech "idiot light."
It cannot see my M705. On the other hand, it IDs my G602 gaming mouse perfectly.
Obviously a Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver issue tied to the Mac OS, NOT anything we can install or troubleshoot.

Both my M705 mouse and keyboard are not working. I'm freaking out because I have a paper due an REALLY need to use my computer. Why is Logitech not providing support?? I'm really regretting buying Logitech equipment... having such a critical outstanding issue for a week now is unacceptable. Why was this not fixed in the Catalina beta? And why were registered customers not notified? Big fail on part of Logitech. :-(

Aha, restarting to Recovery Mode worked. I have a wired Logitech Wave keyboard (eg no Unifying kexts) and kextstat reported this before restart:
107 0 0xffffff7f8252b000 0x47000 0x47000 com.Logitech.Control Center.HID Driver (3.9.8) no UUID <106 81 63 49 6 5 3>
and now after:
107 0 0xffffff7f8252b000 0x47000 0x47000 com.Logitech.ControlCenter.HIDDriver (3.9.9) BB513FDB-C9C7-3A6F-AD71-58CDD322B095 <106 81 49 25 6 5 3>
For note, the keyboard and Logitech Control Center worked correctly the first boot into Catalina so I have no idea why that happened. Lastly, trying to manually unload the kext for the old 3.9.8 LCC errored:
(kernel) Can't unload kext com.Logitech.Control Center.HID Driver; classes have instances:
So, the only solution that worked was restarting to Recovery Mode. My setup is slightly different than that shown by LogiLaurie as my drive is encrypted, but unlocking the drive in Recovery Mode was just one extra step and everything else behaved as expected.

I have always had a problem where every time I reboot, my devices are not detected by LCC until I remove and plug the receiver back in, at which point my K750 and M570 will both show up. They work ok without showing up, but I don't get any of the pointer acceleration or extra button settings on the mouse until the mouse is detected.
After updating from LCC 3.9.8 to 3.9.9, now my devices are not detected at all even unplugging and replugging in the receiver. I'd really like my pointer acceleration and mouse buttons back!
It seems like it worked fine, both the drivers look ok... is there anywhere else to check? I have updated the firmware on the unifying receiver already.

My M705 now works after the incremental update.
If your stuff is still not working, I suggest purging everything Logitech and then reinstalling.
One thing I noticed: the old Control Center in System Preferences did not get deleted when I uninstalled and it will not update. Even though it's not used for newer mice like my M705, it's best to have everything new. Go in there and remove it manually before reinstalling software. The new one will take its place, which is green in color.
