Low Audio Quality when recording in Logitech Capture software
AnsweredI'm getting very bad audio quality when recording from within the Logitech Capture application. I'm just using a C922 webcam (same as the older C920 really) and it doesn't matter whether I use the mic from this web cam, or my preference, which is to use the HyperX Cast mic I just bought, but the audio quality in both cases is appalling.
The audio in playback from the video recorded in the Logitech Capture app sounds very compressed and low quality. There's nowhere within the app to make any changes to the capture quality (e.g. 48Hz) or the recording bitrate (eg 192kbs). I've gone into Windows 10 settings as changed the properties of the mic to 2-channel DVD quality, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'd ideally want to change the recording to a mono recording as it's for a video podcast.
The app is great to use, apart from that (oh, and the inability to set custom screen layouts and have a default background when using chroma keys, but that's for another post :) ).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. Even with an other USB mic which is working fine when used directly in a DAW. The logi capture mp4 sound file seems to be over compressed and the high mids are very "robotic"... Is there a way to change the compression parameters for audio in logi capture ? Thanks

Balaji P, if you actually read what the issue actually is, I'm talking about the AUDIO QUALITY of the recording. It's got nothing to do with the article you posted about being able to stream at 60fps, it's completely unrelated.
The core of the issue, and other in the other comments have also commented on this same issue, is that the AUDIO, when recording in the logitech capture app is VERY LOW QUALITY. it's over compressed and/or with a low bit rate, and THERE'S NO APPARENT WAY TO CHANGE THIS.
Recording from any other application (e.g. streamlabs OBS) allows you to change audio settings, and yields substantially better results).
Why is the logitech capture app so bad, and are there definitive plans to fix this?

I agree. I have tried to record acoustic guitar with external sound card and fine microphone, and audio quality is terrible.
I think there should be a possibility to turn off audio compression (or at least reduce it).
I think it's huge disadvantage for musicians - I have to switch to another video recording soft.

I have the same problem with my new Logitech Streamcam.
In Stereo recordings, the left channel sounds muffled and low while the right channel sounds clear. The entire recording sounds like a very low sample rate.
My suspicion is that the the left and right channel audio cancel each other out due to some weird configuration.
When I speak only into either side of the camera, the resulting sound is clear.
So my concrete question is how to identify and deactivate whatever software settings is causing this very bad audio recording quality.
Help from Logitech is much appreciated.
