I found the following about "settings" that may be helpful: https://blink.ucsd.edu/technology/file-sharing/zoom/guide/configure.html#Video-settings

Hi Caroline,
The C920 webcam is supported by multiple software.
Logitech Capture, Camera Settings - 2.10.4 and Logitech G HUB.
https://support.logi.com/hc/articles/360024849133--Downloads-HD-Pro-Webcam-C920
You will be able to download all the above mentioned software using this link.

Thank you for the link Noble. I already had it. It's for downloading GHub. I can't tell if opening the download is the same as opening GHub. When I open the download, it leads to a BOT. Perhaps there is more to GHub than that but I don't know how to find whatever that might be. I really need more help than a BOT can give.

Noble,
Do I need to delete capture App to use GHub or do I use them both?
I am so happy that you are responding to Caroline's questions.
Maybe the GHub software will help me solve my problem with resolution issues.
Thanks for the response about the software on whether or not to use both or delete one.

I had both installed on my pc before uninstalling them both and trying the latest LGS (Logitech Gaming Software). I didn't experience any problems with having them both installed, or open and running at the same time.
I couldn't find the motion detect feature on any of the 3 I tried, but hopefully I can find a prior version that offers it.
Good luck!

Chris,
Thanks for your feedback. I do not know about the LGS Gaming software. Is this an alternative to the other two?
Does it only work for gaming purposes?
I have been trying to see how to get a better quality video on this new c920 of mine.. The quality is dismal and nothing like what I saw in reviews of the product. I will definitely try the new software is it helps with quality of the video.
I am hoping that it is just a settings or software that I need because the camera had so many great reviews

According to what I found through my research, LGS is simply a compatible alternative by Logitech, made specifically for gamers to be able to adjust their various peripherals in one easy to use program. (mouse, webcam, audio, etc) I only went into the main settings and the webcam settings within that particular app and didn't find the "motion detect" feature i was looking for so I uninstalled it. It didn't really provide any significant features over the G Hub or Logitech Capture software.
As for the camera quality itself on the C920, I've been super impressed. I've been using it for about a year now and have been extremely pleased with both the audio it records and the picture/video quality.

WoW.. That is good to hear.. unfortunately I can't say the same yet.. If I do not get this resolved this weekend, I will return the camera as defective. The quality and sound is abysmal. Hopefully we can find a solution to make it better. Thus far, I am not happy with Logitech approach to my solution... I have reached out and am trying to make this work..
Your words are encouraging... I will give it a few more days of trying before I give up on this Logitech camera. I really did not expect this type of service or issues with the Logitech product, which is why I purchased it to begin with, instead of a knock off unknown camera from a non-major brand. At this level of service and frustration, I could have saved money and just purchased a no-name product, since the Logitech product is not performing at the level that is expected from this product.
In all my research, I did not come across this issue... with the service and poor quality image.
Hopefully, someone from Logitech will read this and help me determine if it is a software issue or hardware issue.
I am hoping that it is resolved, because I need a functioning webcam next week.

Forget Logitech Capture and Logitech G Hub.
Logtech support on this forum are useless.
For the C920, you need to install 'Logitech Webcam Software'.
Download the installer from here:-
http://www.logitech.com/pub/video/lws/lws280.exe
Refer to my earlier thread:-

The C920 uses a digital rather than an optical pan/zoom.
The sensor always captures a 1080p image. As you use the pan & zoom controls it adjusts the position and size of the image window that you actually see.
That means you have to reduce the resolution from the max 1080p for the zoom & pan functions to work.
-
The LogitechCamera.exe does not show these controls. Which software are you showing in your picture and link to download please. I have tried LWS 2.8 and the pan and zoom do not work and I continue to get the error message about drivers, The software matirx for the c920 states that LWS2.8 is to be used.
LogiCamSettings1,1,87.0 does provide some control but is not as per your screenshot. -
It sounds like you may not be running LWS. I don't know what 'LogiCamSettings1,1,87.0' is.
Maybe you need to uninstall whatever you are running and install LWS:-
http://www.logitech.com/pub/video/lws/lws280.exe
The LWS 2.8 user interface should look like this:-
When you click 'Quick Capture' it should change to this:-
When you click 'Controls' it should show the zoom and pan controls:-
-
If you get ' an Incompatible Webcam Detected' message when you attach the camera, you may need to install the 'Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920' driver manually as described in this link:-

Sorry if the following isn't rigt in grammar and so on, I'm not a native speaker...
The Cam C920 itself is the problem - the hardware is just bad - i bought 20 Cams for my office and by none of them the zoom is working.
I tried the LogiCameraSettings_xxxx in different versions, the G-Hub software, the Logitech capture. No zoom...
I have got an older C920 that works pretty fine especially the zoom.
So in my opinion, the firmware in the recently sold models is just bad.
The cam which is working has firmware version 7.5.1023 - zoom is fine
The cams which dont't work have got firmware 7.59.1035
I simply changed the cams on the same laptop, Windows 10 home, build 19041, all updates, patches and so on, LogiCameraSettings_2.5.17
I also tried on Windows 10 professional, tried different versions of the LogiCameraSettings...
Logitech sells Hardware with bugs in firmware of he C920
How can I do a firmware downgrade ? not up ! - down !
Hope some of the technical supporters of Logitech will read this because a the hotline (is it hotline in English ?) I couldn't get any helpful information

I have finally managed to get LWS version 2.8 to work in Zoom. I deleted ALL the logitech software before plugging in the webcam. You need to ensure that the webcam appears under the relevant devices in device manager (Audio and Sound, Video & game controllers). Install LWS 2.8 (I'm using Windows 10), ignore all the error messages. Next launch Zoom and ensure video is pointed to the webcam and that audio capture is pointed to the webcam. You need to click on the settings tab to get the camera fired up and click on Video.
Launch LWS 2.8 and slect the top left box of Quick Capture, wait for it and then click on the Controls button (bottom right),Select either Standard (800 by 600) or widescreen (720p) for the resolution.
You should now be able to zoom. Once zoomed in a little (this is not a smooth zoom but a calibrated one) you should be able to pan.
NONE of this is in the instructions. There is little or NO help anywhere. The choices of software that don't work with the C920 that shows up on the /support/c920 site is quite amazing. A horrible site, no directions for new users and overall a disappointing experience associated with what is probably a good webcam.

I tried 2.80, LWS means Logitech Webcam Software.
no, I've got no idea which cam might be better, maybe the C310 might work with the LogiCameraSettings software, but the resolution isn't as good as the C920
My problem is not the software Zoom, afaik it's used for video conferencing.
I want to use the zoom function at webcamdarts.com to play darts by Internet. -
