The MX Revolution can switch between hyper-fast (free spin) and ratchet (click-to-click) modes.

By default, pressing the middle button on the MX Revolution toggles between hyper-fast mode and ratchet mode (as shown below). Software is not required to switch between modes, however the Logitech Mouse and Keyboard software (SetPoint) can over-ride the scroll settings.

If pressing the middle button as shown above does not change the mode, you may need to change the SetPoint settings for the scroll wheel back to its default settings. To change your setttings in SetPoint, do the following:

1. Open SetPoint (Start > Programs > Logitech > Mouse and Keyboards > Mouse and Keyboard Settings).

2. Click on the My Mouse tab on the top of the SetPoint window.

   

3. Click on the Mouse Button Settings icon on the top left of the SetPoint window.

4. In the Select Mouse area, select the MX Revolution from the drop-down menu.

5. In the Select Button area, click on button 3.

6. In the Select Task area, make sure that Do Nothing is selected.

   NOTE: This option will set the middle button back to default settings and clear all previous settings.

7. Click on Apply and then OK to exit.
