When switching between activities, your Harmony Ultimate sends commands to several devices in a short period of time. Sending commands (ex. power, volume up, play) to one device can sometimes interfere with other devices in your home entertainment system, causing them to lock up or "freeze" for a short period. The inter-device delay needs to be set correctly for all of your devices to enable the devices to successfully complete all commands sent to them.
NOTE: The inter-device delay is the amount of time the Harmony waits between sending a command to one device before sending a command to another. If it is too short, your devices might not power on or switch to the correct input.
For example, if you select the Watch TV activity, and then quickly select the Watch a Movie activity, the DVD player might receive the TV's power command and ignore its own and not power on. If you try the Watch a Movie activity again a few seconds later, the DVD player will power on successfully.
Try increasing the inter-device delay for all devices in the activity you're having trouble with, not just the one device that isn't powering on or switching inputs correctly. It could be that commands from your other devices are causing a conflict. We suggest you set the delay for most devices between 1000 and 2000ms.
