Not all audio content you play through your Z906 speakers will be in surround sound format.
Examples of content that may not be in surround sound format include some:
-
Movies streamed through online streaming services
-
Cable or satellite television content
-
Video game content
-
DVD discs
In the instances where audio content is not in surround sound format, your Z906 is actually being streamed stereo audio content, which simulates surround sound.
Your Z906 has three (3) simulated surround sound settings:
-
2.1 - Front speakers play audio. Subwoofer is active. Center and Rear speakers are off.
-
4.1 - Front/Main Left audio is duplicated to the Rear Left. Front/Main Right audio is duplicated to the Rear Right. Subwoofer is active. Center speaker is off.
-
3D - Simulates a 5.1 surround sound experience. All speakers have independent content and the subwoofer is active.
The LEDs illuminated on the Control Console will reflect which Effect is being used and which channels are active.
NOTE: The LEDs in the above picture above are all illuminated.
