On a console, there are two things to check for if a wheel isn't working in a particular game:
NOTE: If you have a Driving Force GT, and most of the wheel is functioning except for specific buttons like the PS button and horn, consult Knowledge Base article contact. If you have a Driving Force wheel, and you are attempting to play a legacy Playstation game (PS1/PS2) on a PS3 console, consult Knowledge Base article contact.
Hardware Setup:
To check your hardware setup
- Turn off your game console
- Unplug the wheel's AC power adapter.
- If you have a wheel that mounts to a desk, verify that the AC power adapter cable is firmly plugged in. A loose connection into the wheel will prevent the device from being recognized.
- Verify the power source is working. Some wall sockets may be controlled by a wall switch. If in doubt, try plugging in a different device to the wall socket to verify that the power is working.
- Verify the USB cable has no pinches or separations in the wire.
To see if the game is compatible:
- Logitech.com attempts to keep a list of supported games on the product page of each wheel. If your game is on this list, then it is definitely supported. If not, you may need to contact the game developer.
- If your game is listed as supported on Logitech.com, but you are unable to use your wheel still, your game or console may require an update. It is recommended to connect your console to the internet and then launch the game in question. If your console is successfully connected to the internet, most games will automatically check for an update. Try to fully update each game, as well as your console, when needed.
- Try a different USB port. Some games have specific demands of which port a wheel needs to be plugged in to.
Additional Information:
If you try these steps, and your wheel still does not work, please contact Customer Support. The representative may ask you to repeat, or perform some variations, of these steps to verify wheel activity. Performing these steps again with the technician may resolve your case, so we recommend following the steps asked for by the technician.
