What is new in this release and why should people upgrade?
- It's all about HD.
- Updated and enhanced presentation.
- New tool for users to create own video mask.
- Complete redesign User Interface
- With only one driver package being installed, times improved.
- User is presented with a progress bar to help assess how long remaining and status with respect to where are we.
- Check for updates will provide different individual components rather than one large package for the user to decide on.
- Overall GUI functionality is exactly the same as the earlier LWS 1.X releases; however, the presentation has been re-skinned to provide a more contemporary look and feel.
- It is always strongly suggested to be running with latest supported Service Pack for the current OS in question.
- User will have to become accustomed to where things are located. The UI changes have resulted in various settings and focuses to be spread out amongst the following area: Webcam Controller, Advance Properties (e.g. Driver Property Page), and Preferences.
- Enabling and Disabling Privacy Shade will be found on the Webcam Controller.
- There is no longer a readme note file
- The Software provides a help menu that allows the user to find information on Logitech’s Website

- VFX will be supported above VGA (640x480). The feature is suspect above VGA but is supported; however, no support at 1080p.
- The Launcher (main page of LWS) provides an easy starting point to navigate and start doing the things the user wants.
- Orbit AF now supports Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) at 640x480 or above resolution.
