New Technical Support Tools
- Remove AEC tool will disable and unregister AEC from the system. Although this tool will not physically remove the files (as the files are covered by Windows Installer repair), the registry information that loads the AEC driver lvkscap.sys into the audio stack will be removed. This can be used to address issues where AEC may not be desired as a result of compatibility issues with high definition sound cards and digital outputs. More information about the AEC tool can be found from the text displayed before agreeing the run the tool.
- Cleanup QC10 tool will perform a cleanup of all versions of the application and middleware components for Logitech QuickCam 10.x (10.0.0, 10.0.2, 10.4.0, 10.5.0, 10.5.1) This tool will not uninstall the core camera driver, which can still be uninstalled with the Add/Remove entry. This tool is an alternative to the normal Add/Remove uninstall tool when the uninstall maybe failing, or if you suspect there might be a problem with a lingering older QuickCam 10.x component from an upgrade. Use of this tool should supersede the "clean install" procedure in the FAQ, as the tool is actually a more through cleanup then previous uninstalls and most manual registry cleanups (cleans GUIDs and files that may not be known to be Logitech components). More information can be found from the text displayed before agreeing the run the tool.

- CPU Usage - It has been reported that under single core processors, CPU usage is still higher then expected (30% - 40%). This may be normal in the current generation of hardware and drivers, which relies on the driver (and the CPU) to perform rightlight processing and other tasks that use CPU cycles. There is long term initiative to address this, but it may require a new generation of hardware and drivers.
