Mechanical keyboards have a different structure compared to membrane keyboards. Backlighting shines from the top part of the key and not in the center.
For this reason, most of the layouts will have the print at the north of the keycap. The elements at the bottom are accessible when using modifiers.

Some layouts are more complex and require a slightly different layout which is closer to our traditional layout found on membrane keyboards. It is the case for the French layout, Korean layout, Traditional Chinese layout and Russian layout:
