The AV stand was specifically designed to fit an Apple iPad and iPad 2 (with included plastic clips). While the dock connector may work with other Apple devices that use the 30-pin connector, we don't recommend it because the device may not be secure while on the dock connector.
Out of the box, the AV stand is set up to fit an iPad 2 using the pre-installed plastic clips. Removing the spacers enables an original iPad to fit in the stand.
