- The selected resolution
- Activity detection, viewing and downloading Day Briefs
- Battery saving mode and Privacy mode
Resolution
The resolution you select will affect bandwidth consumption. You can set the resolution under Settings menu > More Settings > Resolution. The approximate bandwidth consumption for each resolution while uploading content is:
Resolution | Bandwidth consumption |
---|---|
360p | 250 kbps |
720p | 500 kbps |
1080p | 1000 kbps |
Activity detection and viewing Day Briefs
Circle starts recording (and uploading to the cloud) every time it detects motion, which also affects bandwidth consumption. The more activity detected, the more bandwidth consumed. Viewing activity bubbles on the timeline and generating or downloading Day Briefs on your mobile devices will also increase bandwidth consumption.
Battery saving and Privacy modes
You can enable Battery Saving Mode if you want to limit bandwidth consumption and only want Circle to stream (view live video) and record when you’re watching. To enable Battery Saving Mode, go to Settings menu > More Settings > Battery Saving Mode.
You can also try Privacy Mode, which doesn’t record, but lets you view live video. To enable Privacy Mode, go to Settings menu > Privacy Mode.
