For the Harmony remote to control the Bose Lifestyle 18, 28 and 35 Home Entertainment Systems, the Bose system must be set to receive IR commands. For instructions on setting your Bose to receive IR commands, see your Bose User Manual or refer to the following diagram:

The Bose Lifestyle 18, 28 and 35 systems are capable of being controlled by both Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF). By default, they are set to accept RF. They can be fully controlled by the remote when switched to receive IR commands.
Note: The Bose Home Entertainment System must have the firmware version of 01.03.02 or later in order to accept IR signals. To view the current firmware version:
- Turn off the system.
- Hold down the STORE button on the front of the device.
- While holding STORE, press ENTER.
- If the firmware version is before 01.03.02 an update CD is available from Bose.
