Q: Can I add a WiLife camera to the New Logitech Alert System or an Alert camera to an existing Wilife system?
A: No, Logitech Alert is a completely new video security system that is not compatible with the WiLife system.
The new Logitech Alert system incorporates several customer requested features, among these is the ability to record even when your PC is turned off or is not connected to your network. Unfortunately, adding these new features required significant redesign of the camera making the two systems incompatible.
Q: Will my WiLife system and Alert system work together?
A: Yes, while individual system components (cameras, power supplies etc.) will not interchange, you can run both the Old Command Center software and the new Commander software simultaneously on one computer. The two systems are not compatible, but they will work independently to allow you to control both systems from a single PC. . Note: you will need to ensure that the USB powerline adapter (from your WilLife system) and the network adapter (from your Alert system) are both connected.
Q: Can I still expand my current WiLife system and for how long?
A: Yes, your existing WiLife system can support up to 6 cameras. Your current system will be expandable as long as WiLife cameras are still available. With the introduction of Alert, Logitech is discontinuing the Wilife system so your Wilife system will be expandable until existing inventories are exhausted.
Q: What will happen to online.wilife.com and platinum services
A: There is no change to either of these services they will both continue to be supported by Logitech.
Q: How long will I get support for my Wilife system?
A: Logitech will continue to provide technical assistance through our email, phone and self help channels.
Q: Can I get a refund if I have just purchased the previous security system?
A: Contact the retailer that you purchased the WiLife system from regarding their return policy.
