2. Why did Options+ or G HUB suddenly stop working on my Mac?
A certificate required for the app to run expired, causing Options+ and G HUB to stop working on macOS. We have a fix available, please follow the instructions above.
3. When will the fix be available?
The fix has been made available for the last four macOS versions (macOS 26 Tahoe, macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS 14 Sonoma, macOS 13 Ventura), please check the link and instructions above. A fix for macOS 12 Monterey, will be made available at a later time.
4. I use macOS 12 Monterey, when will the fix be available?
While our patch is currently available for macOS 13 and newer versions, a specialized fix for macOS 12 is currently in development, and we expect to release it soon. Information will be posted in this page.
5. Will the app update automatically now that the fix has been released?
No. Because the expired certificate also affects the updater, automatic updates will not work. You will need to download and install the updated version manually.
6. Will I lose my current settings?
No. All your device settings, customizations, and profiles will remain intact.
7. Do I need to uninstall the app before installing the new version?
No. You should not uninstall the app. Just run the newly downloaded installer. It’s normal for this installation process to be fairly quick.
8. I had used the Options+ offline installer before, can I still use the same patch above?
Yes, please follow the same instructions provided above. You’ll still ‘remain’ on the offline version of the app, since we’re not replacing the app, only correcting the certificate issue.
9. Is this issue related to the apps requiring access to the internet?
The certificate that expired is used to secure inter-process communications and the expiration resulted in the software not being able to start successfully. It is not related to internet connection and affects the Options+ offline installer as well.
10. Is the offline installer, used for Options+ mass-deployment, impacted?
Yes, it also affects the offline installer as well. We’re working on an update to the offline installer to address the issue.
11. Will the app version change after the fix?
No. The version number will remain the same.
12. Are Windows users affected?
No. This issue only affects macOS.
13. Do I need to repeat this process for both Options+ and G HUB?
Only if you use both apps. If you use just one, update only that one.
14. Can Logitech guarantee that settings and customizations will not be lost during the manual installation?
The patch will not affect the settings, but some users, prior to installing the patch, as part of troubleshooting, often uninstall/reinstall the app trying to get it to work and lose settings. So we recommend only using the patch installer.
15. Does the expired certificate pose any potential security vulnerability while the apps are in a non-functional state?
No.
