How do I clean and maintain my MX Creative Console?
Logitech has carefully selected the materials to be stain resistant and easy to clean. However bright colors probably get dirty over normal use.
Our recommendations are as follows:
Before you clean:
- If your device is connected, please unplug your device from your computer first.
- Be sure to switch off your device, then wait 5-10 seconds before cleaning.
- Don’t put cleaning liquids directly on your device.
- Please keep moisture to a minimum and avoid any liquid dripping or seeping into the device.
- When using cleaning sprays, spray the cloth and wipe — do not spray the device directly. Never submerge the device in a liquid, cleaning or otherwise.
- Don’t use bleach, acetone or nail polish remover, strong solvents, or abrasives.
General cleaning guidelines:
Use regular tap water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the device.
For keys:
- Use compressed air to remove any loose debris and dust between the display keys or buttons. If you do not have compressed air available, you could also use cold-air from a hair-dryer.
For the Stand elastomer: (keypad holder area in the stand)
- Clean regularly to avoid stains that are hard to remove (see following Stand elastomer wiping method for more instructions).
- Avoid eating snacks with high pigment or grease concentrations while touching your stand elastomer (fruits, chips, snacks, sweets).
- Avoid touching your face while touching the stand. This will prevent substance transfer to your device (oil, make up, creams, lotions, perfumes, and so on.)
- If you get ink stains on your hands, make sure you remove them with alcohol wipes before touching the stand elastomer.
For foot / base:
- Use regular tap water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the foot.
Stand elastomer wiping method:
- Use regular tap water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down your device.
- Alternatively, use a lens cleaner to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down your device.
- You can also use fragrance-free disinfecting wipes, fragrance-free anti-bacterial wet wipes, makeup removing tissue, or alcohol swabs containing less than 25% concentration of alcohol.
- Don’t use bleach, acetone or nail polish remover, strong solvents, or abrasives.
- If the stain is persistent we recommend to use alcohol with a higher concentration (75% to 95%) or electronic equipment cleaning wipes, our recommendation can be found here. Make sure the cleaning wipes can effectively remove grime and grease from the products.
