The G700s can function in both wireless and wired modes:

Wireless mode

The G700s uses a USB gaming receiver to relay wireless signals from the mouse to your computer. To optimize the wireless connection, plug the receiver into a USB port close to the mouse. You can also plug the receiver extension cable into your computer in order to place the receiver closer to your gaming mouse.

TIP: We recommend that you connect the USB gaming receiver directly to a USB port on your computer and not through a USB hub when you're using it in wireless mode. Please see answer 360023252794 for more information.

NOTE: The supplied gaming receiver is paired to your G700s gaming mouse from the factory. To re-connect a USB gaming receiver to your G700s, see answer 360023252794.

Wired mode

The G700s can be connected to your computer using the supplied Micro-USB to USB cable. This USB connection also charges the G700s battery. For more information on charging your gaming mouse's battery, see answer 360023252794.

Connecting the G700s to your computer with the USB cable disables wireless signal transmission to the gaming receiver. When you're using your gaming mouse in wired mode, you can store the USB gaming receiver in the slot inside the battery compartment on the bottom of the mouse.

NOTE: Don't use the USB cable with the USB extension cable. The USB extension cable is only for use with the USB gaming receiver.
