Distorted sound can also be described as choppy, cutting out, muddy, intermittent, etc.
There are several possible reasons for distorted sound or poor sound quality:

The volume level is set too high causing your music to distort.

The speaker rear ports are blocked.

If the problem is only with FM band radio reception:
- Make sure the FM antenna is extended as much as possible.
- Change the orientation or position of the antenna.
- Try tuning in another radio station to see if the sound quality improves.

If the problem is only with AM band radio reception:
- Make sure the external AM antenna is properly connected.
- Change the orientation of the antenna.
- Try tuning in another radio station to see if the sound quality improves.

If the Problem is only with your iPod or iPhone:
- Check you are using the correct Universal iPod / iPhone Dock adapter.
- Check your iPpod / iPhone is securely seated in the dock adapter.
Some Pure-Fi Anytime units have shown sensitivity to cold temperatures and may take a couple of minutes to warm up. These units may initially play distorted audio for 2-4 minutes. If your audio problems seem to be temperature related, please contact Customer Support (See Knowledge Base article 11637). Please be sure to have both your Model number (M/N) and Product Identification number (PID) available. This information can be found on the bottom of your Pure-Fi Anytime.
