Currently, iMovie doesn't support external USB devices in direct-capture mode. To edit movies captured with a USB webcam in iMovie, you need to first record them using software such as QuickTime or Logitech Webcam Software. Then, when iMovie is open, you can import those previously recorded movie files for editing.
