Yes. Although there are many different programs you can use to video conference, the following instructions use Microsoft Netmeeting. Netmeeting is the standard in video conferencing and is included on the WebCam installation CD.
- Double click on the Netmeeting shortcut on the desktop. If there isn't a shortcut, you can start the application from the Programs group of the Start Menu.
- Once the Netmeeting window appears, click on the Play/Pause button. This should start the video in the Netmeeting window.
- In order to find out the IP address you are using, select "Help," then "About" in the Netmeeting window. The IP address is located at the bottom of the dialog box. The IP address should look something like this: 127.0.0.1. (NOTE: Unless you have a static (doesn't change) IP address, every time the system is restarted or a new dial-up session is started, the IP address will change.
- Once the IP address is identified, the other party needs to know this address. This can be done through an online chat.
- If you are the party initiating the call, type the IP address of the party you are calling into the black box above the video image.
- Click on the icon of the Telephone.
