It is important to fully plug the 3.5mm connector into the controller to use Zone Wired Earbuds with USB-C or USB-A connector. If it’s not fully plugged in, Zone Wired Earbuds would not function properly.
Insert the 3.5mm connector into the controller until you don’t see the wing (please refer to the illustration below). Once it’s fully plugged in, you will hear a click sound.
