Starting with macOS Big Sur (11.0), Apple has a new policy that requires user permission for Logitech Presentation software for the following features:

• Bluetooth Privacy prompt needs to be accepted to connect devices through Bluetooth.
• Accessibility access is needed for gesture, back/forward, zoom, and several other features.
• Input monitoring access is needed for all the features enabled by the software such as gesture, back/forward among others for devices connected via Bluetooth.
• Screen Recording (requires admin rights) is needed to record your screen to magnify the images during your presentation.
• System Events access is needed for the Notifications feature and Keystroke assignments under different applications.

Bluetooth Privacy prompt
When a Logitech Presentation supported device is connected, launching the software for the first time will show the below pop-up for LogiPresentation:

You would need to click on OK. In case you accidentally click on Don’t Allow, you will be able to change it by navigating to System preferences > Security & Privacy > Bluetooth and click on the checkbox.

Once done, you will see a prompt to Quit & Reopen. Click on Quit & Reopen for the changes to take effect.

Accessibility Access (Events)
Accessibility Access (Events) is needed for the basic Back, Next and Long Press of the middle and the last button on the Logitech Presentation Devices (Spotlight and R500) to work. You will see a prompt (image below) when you try to use any of these buttons for the very first time.

1. Click Open System Preferences.
2. Click Security & Privacy.
3. Click the Privacy tab.
4. In the left panel, click Accessibility. In the right panel, check the box for LogiPresentation to provide the access, as shown below.

   

   NOTE: If you are unable to interact with the checkboxes, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner and then check the boxes.

Please note that the prompt appears only once. If you click Deny on the first prompt, you can go to System Preferences and follow the steps above to enable access to the buttons.

Input Monitoring
LogiPresentation needs Input Monitoring permission in Bluetooth mode for the pointer functions such as Highlight, Magnify, Digital Laser on the top button for the Logitech Presentation Devices (Spotlight and R500).

1. Click Open System Preferences.
2. Click Security & Privacy.
3. Click the Privacy tab.
4. In the left panel, click Input Monitoring. In the right panel, check the box for LogiPresentation to provide the access, as shown below.
   
   NOTE: If you are unable to interact with the checkboxes, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner and then check the boxes.

Once the permission is granted, you must select Quit Now and restart the application when the following prompt is presented.

Screen Recording
LogiPresentation needs permission to record your screen to magnify the images when the ‘Magnify’ feature is used during your presentations.

1. Click Open System Preferences.
2. Click Security & Privacy.
3. Click the Privacy tab.
4. In the left panel, click Screen Recording. In the right panel, check the box for LogiPresentation to provide the access, as shown below.
   
   NOTE: If you are unable to interact with the checkboxes, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner and then check the boxes.

Please note that the prompt appears only once. If you click Deny on the first prompt, you can go to System Preferences and follow the steps above to enable access to the buttons.

Once the permission is granted, you must select Quit Now and restart the application when the following prompt is presented.

System Events prompts
In order for your devices to be discovered through Bluetooth, Apple has introduced the following prompt which must be allowed.

Besides granting permissions for Accessibility Access (Events) to use the device, separate access is needed for the Presentation Software features to work on supported apps such as Keynote, Google Slides, and so on.

When you open a Browser/Presentation app (regardless of the device connected), there will be a prompt (see images below) which appears once, requesting access. If you deny access, the features related to Presentation that need access to the same item will fail to work and another prompt will not be shown.

Click OK to allow access for Logitech Presentation so that you can continue to use these features. If you already clicked on Don’t Allow, use the following steps to manually allow access:

1. Click Open System Preferences.
2. Click Security & Privacy.
3. Click the Privacy tab.
4. In the left panel, click Automation. In the right panel, check the boxes under LogiPresentation to provide access, as shown below.
   

NOTE: If features still don't work, even after you have granted access, please reboot the system.
