The S315i speaker has an automatic shutoff mechanism that can detect a special signal from your iPhone or iPod Touch. This signal helps determine if the iPhone or iPod is currently playing music. If the speaker does not detect this signal from the iPod, the unit may automatically shut off after 15 minutes to conserve battery power. Some non-Apple music playback applications, like internet radio apps, that do not send this signal may encounter this issue.
NOTE: This issue only occurs when the S315i is running on battery power; not when the AC power adapter is plugged in.
For other options to play your music on the iPhone or iPod Touch:
-
Use your AC power adapter, not the battery, if you are listening to audio from non-Apple music playback applications.
-
Use the built-in iPod application to play your locally stored music.
The auto-shutoff on newer units is triggered after 4 hours instead of 15 minutes. If you are experiencing the 15 minute shutoff issue and have concern, please contact Logitech Technical Support for resolution. Have your product information ready.
