The Camera Bandwidth test checks the network traffic between Commander and each camera on the network, one at a time, to determine the actual data throughput. While running the test, the camera stops streaming video and archiving media recordings to Commander.
The strength of the data throughput is affected by the camera processing, and is less than the rate that would be measured if you had a full desktop computer in the place where the camera is located. If you're remote viewing on a web browser or mobile device at the time of the test, the results will also be lower than normal. Without streaming remotely, the rate shows how much bandwidth is available for the camera to:
- View live video in the local Desktop Commander application
- Archive video to the local Desktop Commander application
- Stream video online or on mobile devices
- View recorded video online or on mobile devices
NOTE: When all cameras are doing one or more of these activities, they can't have all of the available bandwidth for themselves. They have to share it with the other cameras.
To launch the Camera Bandwidth test:
-
Open Logitech Alert Commander.
-
Click Open Settings (gear icon).
-
Click the Diagnostic button to get to the Camera Bandwidth test.
