A bad connection to your PC can cause static in your headset. Verify your headset is connected properly to your PC. If you are still hearing static or distorted sound, it is possible that your microphone/headset volumes are too high or too low. You can adjust these in the Volume control panel in windows. To do so, follow the below instructions:
- Click "Start," "Programs”, “Accessories”, “Entertainment”, and click " Volume Control"
- Adjust the slider for your earpiece volume.
- To adjust your microphone volume, click on “Options”, “Properties”, then select the “Recording” radial and press “OK”
- Adjust your microphone volume accordingly.
- You can test the microphone volume in Sound Record under the Entertainment menu.
If the problem still persists, the issue could be due to the Sample Rate Conversion Quality being set too low on the computer. Please do the following to set the Sample Rate Conversion Quality.
- Click "Start," "Settings," and click "Control Panel."
- Double click "Multimedia."
- Click the Audio tab.
- Under "Recording," click the Advanced Properties button.
- Move the Sample Rate Conversion slider from "Good" to "Best."
- Click "OK."
If this does not work, try the device on another system or contact your system manufacturer.
