If Blaster does not respond after following the recommended steps displayed on the Remote Touch screen, then attempt the recommendations below.
The range of the Remote and Blaster depends on many factors including building materials and interference from other wireless products. After each step test to see if this resolves the issue.
- Unplug the AC adapter from Blaster for 1 minute and then restore power back to the Blaster. Remove the battery from the Harmony 900 Remote for 1 minute and then reinsert the battery. This will allow the Remote and Blaster to re-establish communication.
- Change the location of your Blaster. Moving the Blaster (2-3 feet) can make a significant difference. RF (Radio Frequency) signal can degrade when traveling through brick (fireplace), metal (filing cabinet), mirrors, water (fish tank), large appliances, glass, etc.
- Change the orientation of your Blaster. Turning the Blaster 45 or 90 degrees in a different direction can help improve the signal between the Harmony Remote and Blaster.
- WiFi devices, cordless phones, baby monitors, X-10 home automation devices, and Bluetooth devices can interfere with the Blaster. Change the location of the base for your phone, or change the frequency of the device (some baby monitors allow you to do this in order to reduce interference).
If none of these steps resolves your issue please contact Harmony Customer Support.
