To help switch your keyboard layout to Japanese (JIS) on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. Please follow the instructions below:
For Windows Devices
- Open Language Settings:
- Press the Windows key, type Language settings, and press Enter.
- Add Japanese:
- Click Add a language, search for Japanese, click NEXT, and then Install.
- Switch Layout:
- Click the language icon in the taskbar and choose Japanese (Microsoft IME).
- Click the language icon in the taskbar and choose Japanese (Microsoft IME).
For macOS Devices
- Open Keyboard Settings:
- Go to the Apple menu → System Settings → Keyboard.
- Next to "Text Input," click Edit.
- In the new window that appears, click the plus sign (+) in the bottom-left corner.
- Add Japanese:
- Scroll to Japanese, and select your preferred layout (Kana or Romanji).
- Switch Layout:
- Use the input menu in the menu bar and select Japanese.
For Android Devices
- Open Keyboard Settings:
- Go to Settings → System → Languages & Input → On-Screen Keyboard.
- Add Japanese:
- Tap your keyboard (ex. Gboard), go to Languages → Add Keyboard, select Japanese, and set a layout.
- Switch Layout:
- Tap the globe icon on the keyboard until Japanese appears.
For iOS Devices
- Go to Keyboard Settings:
- Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
- Add Japanese:
- Tap Add New Keyboard, select Japanese, and choose Kana or Romaji layout.
- Switch Layout:
- Use the globe icon on the keyboard to select Japanese.
