Circle View Doorbell offers color night vision up to six feet away in front of it — perfect to cover most walkways leading up to your home entrance.
This is powered by the following:
- A high-performance camera sensor with enhanced low light performance
- An LED light strip that provides light directly in front of the camera up to six feet away. This light will stay on throughout the night if you do not have sufficient lighting as determined by the system.
- An ambient light sensor that determines when the light level in front of the doorbell is low enough to turn on night mode.
NOTE: You may notice that the night light can come on if the system determines that there is insufficient light in front of the camera, however, this light will wait for a minute of sustained light above the minimum threshold before it turns off. This is so that at night, car lights or momentary reflections do not cause the system to keep switching the light off.
For the best nighttime viewing experience, consider the following:
- If you have a porch light, keep it on at night. NOTE: If you are considering adding a porchlight, you'll get the best results if the porch light illuminates the scene as people walk up to the camera, and does not point directly at the camera.
- Make sure the area you want to monitor is clear and unobstructed with no objects close to the camera in its field of view. Light-reflecting from these objects may cause the automatic system to over-compensate, darken the image, and reduce the visibility of objects in the distance.
- Toggle off the Night Vision Light (in the Apple Home app) if you wish to rely solely on the light from the environment to illuminate the view.
