The Harmony 1000 will freeze or lock up at certain screens and cause the remote to become unusable.
Troubleshooting:
- Remove the battery from the remote. Once the battery has been removed and the remote has powered down, wait 10 seconds and replace the battery
- Allow the remote to power up, and then restart the same activity. Use the ‘Help’ button to synchronize the remote to the settings of your home theater
- Continue to use the remote as normal. If the problem returns please try the steps below
Applying Firmware in Safe Mode:
- First we are going to put your remote into "Safe Mode". To do this, take out the battery and disconnect the remote from the USB cable
- Hold down the Off button (keep it pressed continuously) and place battery back into the remote
- Keep pressing the OFF button for another 10 seconds. The remote will then display the Logitech logo with the words "Safe Mode" below. If it does not, please go back to Step 1
- Next, start the Logitech Harmony Remote Software and login to your account
- Click on the

- Click on the
button. Follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade the firmware on your Harmony 1000
- When prompted, connect your Harmony remote to your PC using the USB cable provided and click on the
button to continue
- Once the firmware upgrade is complete, click on the
button to update your Harmony 1000
