Hybrid mode is a method of connecting your Squeezebox Duet so that your Receiver is connected to your network via an Ethernet cable, while your Controller is connected to your wireless network. This mode can be helpful in resolving connection problems. To set up your Duet in Hybrid mode, please do the following:

Connect your Receiver to your router with an Ethernet cable.

Plug your Receiver into an AC power outlet.

The light on the front of your Receiver should change to a slow blinking red.

Turn on your Squeezebox Controller.

Choose your Language and click the center button.

Choose your wireless network and click the center button.

Choose the ‘Connect to other Wireless Network’ option and click the center button.

Enter the wireless encryption key.
NOTE: To find your encryption key, consult your router documentation).

After your Controller successfully connects to your network, select ‘Set up Receiver’ and click the center button.

Choose your Squeezebox Receiver from the list of music sources and click the center button.
NOTE: Your Receiver will be identified by the word ‘Squeezebox’, followed by the last six digits of the Receiver MAC address. Verify your Receiver’s MAC address from the sticker on the bottom of the Receiver.

Choose ‘Connect using Ethernet’ from the list of options and click the center button. The light on the front of the Receiver will now cycle through the following colors:
- Red
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue

Once the light on the front of your Receiver turns blue, you will be asked to choose a music source. If you are streaming music from your computer using SqueezeCenter, select your computer and click the center button. If not, go to Step 13 below.

You will need to connect to SqueezeNetwork if you are not using SqueezeCenter on your computer. For instructions to connect to SqueezeNetwork, please see Knowledge Base article 360023219994.
You should now be connected to your music source and streaming music.
