If Alert Commander does not detect your camera, please check the following:
Check hardware:
- Is the camera plugged in, has power and the LED is lit?
- Try to power cycle the camera (turn on and off). To do this, unplug the camera power supply from the AC power outlet and then plug it back in.
- Is the camera plugged into the network? (either HomePlug or PoE)
- Check cables and all network connections
- Is the router powered on and functioning?
- Is your computer turned on and connected to network.
- Check that Alert Commander is running using the latest version of software.
Check for weak HomePlug signal:
- Plug the camera into an electrical outlet close to where your router is located. This will help to verify if signal strength is an issue.
- Try the camera using different electrical outlets
- Are there other 3rd party HomePlug devices on the network that are already assigned passwords? Another bridge, lighting control, etc? This could block the camera's signal. Make sure you are not using the same password with different HomePlug devices.
Firewalls:
- Turn off any Firewalls or Antivirus programs which can sometimes block the signal.
What color is the camera's status LED?
- If you are seeing a yellow LED, it means the camera has no IP address and is not seeing the DHCP server or Alert Commander. This is probably a connectivity problem and you should go back up to the "Check hardware" section again.
- UPnP process may have stopped in the camera so power cycle the camera (turn off then back on).
