The Z906 speakers can play Dolby Digital and DTS audio. The Decode LED on the Control Console will illuminate when it is playing either one of these digital formats.
To verify which format your Z906 is playing, you'll need to check in two places:
-
Audio setting for the media you're playing. For example, DVD or Bluray discs will have an audio setting where you can verify this.
-
Audio output setting for your hardware (ex. DVD or Blueray player, game console, etc.). Refer to the support documentation for your hardware to verify how to do this.
NOTE: When the Decode LED is illuminated, the Effect settings will be locked and can't be changed by the user. If the digital signal is not in a 5.1 format, the system defaults to the channel settings for the audio signal. For instance, if the audio signal is for Dolby Digital 2.0, the Z906 will default to using a 2.1 channel setup.
