The new Lighting Editor (beta) feature lets you create your own animated effects on select Logitech G RGB mechanical gaming keyboards.
You can use Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) 8.91.48 and later to create and manage animated lighting effects for Logitech G410, G810, G910 and Pro gaming keyboards. If you do not have LGS, you can download the latest version from Logitech Support.
NOTE: You may have to update your keyboard’s firmware in order to enable animated lighting effects. Please refer to the table below for the required firmware version for your keyboard. To check the firmware version, launch Logitech Gaming Software (LGS), and then click the Settings icon. At the top of the Settings window, select the tab for your keyboard, and then locate the version number. Click Update and follow the prompts in LGS to update the firmware if necessary.

NOTE: The colors of the keyframes on the timeline are randomly assigned. They are not representative of the colors used in the effect.
Enable per profile animated lighting effects

Enable animated lighting effects
- Make sure your gaming keyboard is securely connected to your computer.
- Launch Logitech Gaming Software (LGS).
- Select your gaming keyboard and click on the Lighting Settings (lightbulb icon) at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Lighting Mode panel, select Your Effects.
- In the Effect Selection panel, choose from one of the 16 preset lighting effects or create your own. Refer to the sections Manage animated lighting effects and Understanding the Lighting Editor interface to learn more.
NOTE: The active lighting effect is indicated with a blue flag. - You can control the direction and rate of the lighting effects. In the Settings panel, drag the slider right to make the lighting effect faster and left to make it slower. Click Direction and select one of the following:
- Cycle — plays the animation on repeat.
- Reverse Cycle — plays the animation backward and on repeat.
- Bounce — plays the animation forward, and then backward on repeat.
- Randomize — randomly plays keyframes in the animation.
Manage animated lighting effects
There are two ways to create a new lighting effect:
- Create a brand new lighting effect
- Use one of the existing presets
- To create a new lighting effect: Click on Create New Effect ("+") or Options > Create New Effect.
- To use an existing effect: Select the effect you'd like to use, then click Options > Create Copy.
- The Lighting Editor will appear as a separate window. Refer to the next section, Understanding the Lighting Editor interface to learn more.
- You can modify existing lighting effects in the Lighting Settings tab.
NOTE: Presets cannot be edited, renamed or deleted.
Right-click on an effect and choose from:- Edit — opens the Lighting Editor in a separate window for you to customize the lighting effect.
- Rename — lets you rename the selected lighting effect. Make your changes and press the Enter key to save.
- Create New Effect — creates a new lighting effect based on the default effect and opens the Lighting Editor as a separate window.
- Create Copy — creates a copy of the selected lighting effect and opens the Lighting Editor.
- Export — click to export your lighting effect to a folder of your choosing. You can transfer custom lighting effects to other computers or share with friends.

Delete — deletes the selected lighting effect.
NOTE: LGS prompts you to confirm before deleting the selected effect.
Understanding the Lighting Editor interface
NOTE: The colors of the keyframes on the timeline are randomly assigned. They are not representative of the colors used in the effect.
- Click on Settings (gear icon) and choose one of the following options:
- Save — saves your progress.
- Rename — lets you rename the current lighting effect. Type your desired name and press the Enter key to save changes.
- Create New Effect — creates a new lighting effect based on the default effect.
- Create Copy — creates a copy of the active lighting effect.
- Import — click to import a lighting effect file (.eft) from a folder of your choosing.
- Export — click to export the lighting effect to a folder of your choosing.

Delete — deletes the animated lighting effect.
NOTE: LGS prompts you to confirm before deleting the selected effect. - Exit — closes the Lighting Editor and returns to the Lighting Settings tab in LGS.
- Click Foreground color or Background color to open the Color Selector. Use the color wheel and sliders to create a color or manually input RGB values. Once the colors are set, left-click any key on the device image to apply the foreground color. Similarly, right-click any key on the device image to apply the background color.
NOTE: To color multiple keys at a time, click, hold and drag the left or right mouse button over a range of keys on the device image.
TIP: You can use the Color Flipper (image below) to easily switch between the background and foreground color. - Use the Color Picker to pick a color from any key on the device image. Select the Color Picker and left-click to apply to foreground color and right-click for background color. Use Replace Color to change all instances of a color with a replacement color. Select the Replace Color tool, left-click a key on the device image to replace with the foreground color or right-click for the background color.
- Drag Transition Curves onto a keyframe in the timeline to tweak the transition between keyframes. NOTE: The keyframe icon in the timeline changes once you adjust the transition:
- Use the play and stop buttons to preview your lighting effect. NOTE: The play icon becomes a pause icon while previewing the effect.
- Use the previous and next buttons to cycle through the keyframes on the timeline.
- Click on the "+" (plus icon) to create a new keyframe at the end of the timeline. Click the "-" (minus icon) to delete the last keyframe on the timeline.
- Click and drag the edge of the active keyframe to adjust length. The length does not correspond to actual time — it only provides a relative comparison to other keyframes. You can right-click a keyframe for additional options:

Copy — makes a copy of the selected keyframe.
NOTE: Copy and paste functions need to be used in sequence. - Paste — applies or pastes the copied keyframe onto the selection.
- Remove — removes the keyframe from the timeline.
- Move Left — moves the selected keyframe one position to the left in the timeline.
- Move Right — moves the selected keyframe one position to the right in the timeline.
- Insert Before — inserts a new keyframe before the selection.
- Insert After — inserts a new keyframe after the selection.
- Set Keyframe Color — randomly assigns colors to the keyframe, which you can adjust to your liking.

Copy — makes a copy of the selected keyframe.
Enable per profile animated lighting effects
- Click on the double left arrows in the top-right corner of the LGS window.
- Check Enable per profile backlighting. A list of active LGS game profiles will appear below the checkbox.
- Select a game from the list to begin configuring animated lighting effects for that game's profile. Click Scan for New Games to search your computer for recently installed games that may have associated game profiles in LGS.
