To set up a Netgear ReadyNAS to run Squeezebox Server, please do the following:

1. Download software
2. Update ReadyNAS firmware
3. Run CleanSqueezeCenter
4. Remove and reinstall SqueezeCenter
5. Run CleanSqueezeCenter
6. Complete Squeezebox Server Setup

1. Download software:

   1. Download the following files:

      NOTE: There are two variants - the Pro/NX and the NV/NV+/Duo. Make sure to select the correct version.

      • Squeezebox Server for ReadyNAS from this Downloads Page

      • RAIDiator for ReadyNAS from: http://www.readynas.com/download.

        NOTE: This is the firmware for the ReadyNAS.

      • CleanSqueezeCenter which resets all Squeezebox Server settings to default.

        • The NV/NV+/Duo version: http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=617

   2. After downloading, place all the files you downloaded in a folder on your desktop.

   3. Launch RAIDar (Netgear software that discovers and connects to your ReadyNAS).

   4. In RAIDar, click Setup.

   5. Login to your ReadyNAS administration web page.

2. Update ReadyNAS firmware:

   You will need to update your ReadyNAS’ firmware. To update your firmware, please do the following:

   1. Go to System > Update > Local tab.

   2. Click Browse and navigate to the folder wherein you previously stored the files you downloaded from Netgear.

   3. Select RAIDiator and select ‘Upload and verify image’.

   4. After the file uploads, click ‘Perform System Update’.

   5. When the update completes, go to Shutdown > Shutdown and reboot your device > Apply.

   6. After your ReadyNAS restarts, log back into the administration web page and proceed to the Run CleanSqueezeCenter steps below.

3. Run CleanSqueezeCenter:

   The CleanSqueezeCenter application returns all Squeezebox Server settings to their defaults.

   1. In your ReadyNAS web administration page, go to System > Update > Local tab.

   2. Click Browse and navigate to the folder wherein you previously stored the files you downloaded from Netgear.

   3. Select CleanSqueezeCenter and click ‘Upload and verify image’.

   4. After the file uploads, click ‘Perform System Update’.

   5. You will be prompted to restart your ReadyNAS.

   6. Go to the Shutdown tab, select ‘Shutdown and reboot your device’ and click Apply.

   7. After the ReadyNAS restarts, log back into the web administration page and go to the Remove and reinstall SqueezeCenter steps below.

4. Remove and reinstall Squeezebox Server:

   You will need to uninstall any previous version of Squeezebox Server on your ReadyNAS and install the new version you previously downloaded from the Logitech web site. To uninstall and reinstall, do the following:

   NOTE: The references to SqueezeCenter below refer to the latest Squeezebox software.

   1. On the ReadyNAS web administration page, go to Services > Streaming Services.

   2. Check the checkbox next to SqueezeCenter, then click Remove.

   3. Go to System > Update > Local tab.

   4. Click Browse and navigate to the folder wherein you stored the files you previously downloaded from Logitech’s web site.

   5. Select SqueezeCenter and click ‘Upload and verify image’.

   6. After the file uploads, click ‘Perform System Update’.

   7. When the update completes, go to Shutdown > Shutdown and reboot your device > Apply.

   8. After your ReadyNAS restarts, go to the Run CleanSqueezeCenter steps below.

5. Run CleanSqueezeCenter:

   The CleanSqueezeCenter application returns all SqueezeCenter settings to their defaults.

   1. In your ReadyNAS web administration page, go to System > Update > Local tab.

   2. Click Browse and navigate to the folder wherein you previously stored the files you downloaded from Netgear.

   3. Select CleanSqueezeCenter and click ‘Upload and verify image’.

   4. After the file uploads, click ‘Perform System Update’.

   5. You will be prompted to restart your ReadyNAS.

   6. Go to the Shutdown tab, select ‘Shutdown and reboot your device’ and click Apply.

   7. After the ReadyNAS restarts, you should be able to access SqueezeCenter on your ReadyNAS.

6. Complete Squeezebox Server Setup:

   1. After the ReadyNAS restarts, on the ReadyNAS web administration page, go to Services > Streaming Services.

   2. Under the SqueezeCenter section, click the Setup button.

   3. The Squeezebox Server web interface will open.

   4. Squeezeboxes or Transporters require a mysqueezebox.com account in order to access internet radio or music services. Log into your mysqueezebox.com account with your email address and password.

      NOTE: If you have not created a mysqueezebox.com account, click the ‘I need to create a mysqueezebox.com account’ link.

   5. Browse to your music’s location, highlight the directory and click next.

   6. Browse to your playlists’ location, highlight the directory and click Next.

   7. You will see the Summary page for your Squeezebox Server install. Click Finish to complete the installation.

   8. You should be able to access Squeezebox Server on your ReadyNAS.
