If you can't hear other people's voices, but you can hear game sound effects:

Increase the volume on the incoming chat channel by turning up the volume dial (labeled with a chat bubble).

Turn off your console and then turn it back on and restart your game.

Verify that your game supports voice chat.
If other people can't hear you:

Make sure you're using the right voice cable for your:

PS3: Use the USB mini PS3 voice cable to connect your PS3 to the rear of the F540 base station.

Xbox 360: You must use the 2.5mm Xbox 360 voice cable to connect your headset to your Xbox 360 controller.

Review the manual for your console to make sure it is set up to receive voice chat

Check the requirements for your game to be sure it doesn't require a push-to-talk function.
