Your K400 has a space for storing the Unifying receiver when not in use.
To locate the storage space for the Unifying receiver in your K400:
Flip your keyboard over and slide the battery cover off.
Locate the small rectangular slot inside the battery cover.
Slide the receiver into the slot.
Replace the battery cover.
Important Notice: Logitech Presentation devices are now supported by Logi Options+ for a better experience. We highly recommend using Logi Options+ with your presentation remotes. We are here to assist you during this transition.
