The G600 gaming mouse offers two different ways to manage button assignments and DPI levels:
-
Using application detection ("Automatic Game Detection") — In this mode, you can configure the button assignments and DPI levels individually for every game and application on your computer. We recommend this mode for advanced users, and for when you want to assign specific keystrokes for each application on your computer.
-
Enabling on-board memory — In this mode, button assignments and DPI levels are written to the memory of the mouse. This lets you configure the mouse on one computer, and then use it on a different computer with no additional software or configuration. This is also useful when you want to use only one set of button configurations for all games and other applications on your computer.
Using application detection ("Automatic Game Detection")
To use application detection for managing button assignments and DPI levels:
-
Launch the Logitech Gaming Software:
Start > All Programs > Logitech > Logitech Gaming Software 8.x -
Enable Automatic Game Detection mode by clicking the toggle at the right side of the window.
NOTE: Application-specific profiles won't work in On-Board Memory mode.
The mouse will now be in Automatic Game Detection mode and you can configure the button assignments and DPI levels individually for every game and application on your computer.
TIP: If your mouse is set to Automatic Game Detection and the profiles still aren't working, you may not have the correct .exe file associated with the profile. See answer 360023411353 for help.
Enabling on-board memory
To enable on-board memory for managing button assignments and DPI levels:
-
Open the Logitech Gaming Software:
Start > All Programs > Logitech > Logitech Gaming Software 8.x -
Enable On-Board Memory mode by clicking the toggle at the right side of the window.
The mouse will now be in On-Board Memory mode and all of the customizations you make will be written directly to the mouse itself.
