The main difference between USB and XLR is connectivity. Neither option is inherently better than the other, however XLR connections allow for more control and expanded capabilities through interfaces and mixers. For example, if you have a podcast studio for multiple guests or a music studio for vocals and acoustic guitar, an XLR setup will allow you to use multiple mics and control the input of each mic individually.
