Circle 2 unable to reset after HomeKit Secure Video upgrade

I have started using my Logitech Circle 2 camera with HomeKit Secure Video. Everything has been working well for a while. Suddenly, the camera stopped responding and now it appears completely bricked.
I tried to reset the camera (press and hold the side button until I see the magenta/green flashing lights). However, nothing seems to happen and the camera won't reset. Next time I press the side button I am stuck in the same loop. A video similar to my issue has been posted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQLsWqdJ17Q
According to the comments on that video many other people encountered the very same issue.
Any idea on how to resolve this?
