I just bought your circle view HomeKit camera and for the most part I am very happy with it. Its the most feature rich camera out there that have full support of Apple HomeKit Secure Video and the price point is very good in my opinion. Although there is few things that I would like to see in future.
For example the bag with all the screws and inserts for the wall/ceiling installation should come with one double sided tape patch. So if you are not able to drill holes you could install it securely with 3M VHB tape. Of course that was fast fix to do yourself, but it would be nice to have it as standard.
Next when the camera was installed into the corner of two hallways (by the way the viewing angle is amazing) I find out the black camera body will standout unnecessarily much on otherwise white walls and ceiling. So in future I would like to see black and white version of this camera to match better the background its against. And by that I mean you would have the whole camera in black color like its now or then completely white.
And this leads us to the next thing which is the turn off/privacy button in the back. Since the black camera stands out a little bit too well against my white wall and ceiling it will attract unwanted attention if you don't want to be seen and therefore the privacy button should be possible to make non functioning when you are not home for example. I know you can just point the camera to face the wall or what ever, but pressing one button to shut it down is making it just to easy.
And that leads us again to next one which is that the camera body should not be able to turn as much that it points directly to the wall. I know that this is kind of hard security thing for ppl who don't trust switches and software. But if you install security camera somewhere you should be able to trust its features 100% and so far this camera feels most secure of all since it is fully operating thru the Apple's own HomeKit Secure Video service and not any third party one. This is again one more easy way to point camera into direction where it won't record anything that is happening. For example if you use these cameras outside of your property. The basic trick is that someone come early to turn the cameras to point into wrong direction and the actually robbery is made much later if nobody will react to that at all. That way you don't know the exact time when the robbery happen if your rely only into outdoor cameras.
Also one feature that came into my mind was that if the camera sense that its frame is moving it would alert you about that. Since if you are out of the frame and you turn the camera and its not set up to start record when it senses any movement, but instead when it sees person, animal or vehicle. Does it then alert you about that at all? Because this way the camera could be possibly to turn into wrong direction without it sensing any activity and then you just find out later on your camera was pointing into wrong direction all the time and the robbery was made from the direction where you pointed it at in the first place. I think this could be fixed very easily, but I guess its more like a Apples side of thing to add such a warning feature into their HomeKit app.
And last but not least I would like to see additional product (sold separately) that would seal the usb cable into a watertight box that would have possibilities to extend the usb cable water tightly to somewhere further away. By that I mean it would have watertight box where the now existing usb cable would go in and then there would be adapter that you could attach your own extended cable of some sort and run that to somewhere where you can make the safe connection to power outlet. Otherwise the usb or any power port in that matter in the camera body would be good idea, but then it will lost its waterproofness and its also very easy to disconnect the camera then from the web by just pulling the cable out. Now if you run your cable into your ceiling the thief need to cut it with something to be able to disconnect the camera from its power source, which is good since not all thief's carry side cutters with them.
I know that is a lot to ask, but I hope we see at least some of those features in future versions of this camera. Keep up the good work Logi!
