    Hi Earl,

Thanks for choosing Logitech Circle Doorbell

    To address your notifications:
If you go into your doorbell settings in the HomeKit and go to: "Notifications"
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see "Receive Activity Notifications When"
Make sure that "A Clip is Recorded" is selected.

Now the only time you should get a notification is when 1. A person or a Car is detected or 2. When someone rings the doorbell.
You might also want to set up an activity zone if you want to tweak the detection area.

As for the doorbell being warm, yes that is a normal part of the doorbells operation. As long as you are not getting thermal shutdowns the the doorbells temperature should not be a problem.

Let me know if you still have offline issues after you change your activity detection to when a clip is recorded.

    Best Regards

    Thanks Tim,

I had done all that. What I did discover is that the doorbell was acting as if the HomeKit hub was offline. That is, as if there was nothing to process the motion to see if it meets the criteria for a notification. I have a HomePod mini and a iPad that can both act as a hub. The HomePod mini was the primary hub. I took the HomePod mini offline (unplugged it) and the iPad took over as the primary hub. The motion alerts starting following the doorbell settings with proper notifications. I plugged the HomePod mini back in. It is still working. However, the iPad is still listed as the primary hub and the HomePod mini is listed as backup. iPad is iPad OS 4.5.1. HomePod mini is HomePod OS 4.5.

    Hi Earl,
It's great to hear you found a fix for your situation.
    Thanks for letting us know
Did you place the HomePod Mini back in the same place as it was before?

    Best Regards

    Hi Tim,

Yes, the HomePod mini is back in the same place it was before, about 10 feet from my home firewall. I have an Apple TV 4K on order which will be hard wired into the network. I expect that that will help as well. Interesting, the iPad has not given up as primary HomeKit hub. The HomePod is still backup after two days.

    Regards, Earl
