    Hello Fernando,

You shouldn't have to configure anything more then once unless the Doorbell has been reset. If you're having issues with settings not changing correctly it is typically related to an issue with the Apple home ecosystem. Here are a few things you can try to resolve that.

    • Reboot your Home Hub(s)
    • Reboot the device you are viewing the doorbell on
    • Make sure your Home Hub(s) and viewing device are up to date
    • Log out of your iCloud account and log back in on your viewing device
    • Reset network settings on viewing device: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network settings

Also, double check that you are using a device that has the proper permissions to be able to change the settings you are trying to change.

If none of the above works, please reach out to Apple for Home kit support.

That isn't the issue.  Streaming works.  However, if the camera is configured to only record, how can I have it start live streaming without going in to configure it to stream/record.

    Hello Fernando,

The only settings allowed in the Home app are "stream" and "stream and allow recording". Both options allow for live streaming so either way you have your Doorbell configured you should be able to view live feed.

If you're having issues with viewing your live feed I would try a reset of the Doorbell and readd it to home kit.

Make sure you remove the doorbell from the home kit before proceeding with the factory reset.

    1. Disconnect your unit from power.
If your device is currently in its mount, use the included ejector tool and push it into the small circular opening on the bottom right of the device, and press firmly. There is a long slender hole to the left that is for the speaker. Ensure that you don't insert the tool into the speaker hole or you will damage the Doorbell. Once you hear the lock release, you can then carefully remove the main unit from the mount.

      • If your unit is connected to a 5V 2A USB power source via a micro-USB cable, remove the USB power cable from the device.
Keep the unit disconnected for at least 30 seconds before proceeding to the next step.

    2. Press and hold down the doorbell button and while doing so, plug the USB power cable (connected to a 5V 2A power source back into the device). DO NOT LET GO OF THE BUTTON.

    3. Continue to hold the button as the status LED changes its colors. Let go when you see the rapid blinking magenta Status LED (9+ seconds after applying power).

You’ll know the reset is successful when you hear two beeps and the unit returns to the ready to pair state (solid green status LED)

** NOTE: If you do not hear the two beeps this indicates the reset was unsuccessful, and will need to be reattempted.

    Best regards,

    Chris
